Barolo 'Parussi' by Massolino originates from the renowned cru Parussi in Castiglione Falletto, on sandy and marly soils that give the wine elegance and aromatic complexity. The Nebbiolo grapes, carefully hand-harvested, undergo slow fermentation with long maceration for maximum extraction of aromas and noble tannins. The aging continues for 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by at least 12 months in bottle, developing depth and harmony. On the nose, it opens with ripe red fruits, sweet spices, licorice, and balsamic notes, while on the palate it reveals itself as structured, elegant, and persistent, with silky tannins and remarkable aging potential. Ideal with braised dishes, game, significant roasts, truffle dishes, and aged cheeses. A Barolo that expresses the excellence of the territory and the distinctive style of Massolino.

Massolino

In the picturesque setting of Serralunga d'Alba, the vibrant heart of enological Piedmont, the Massolino winery stands as a bastion of classic Barolo. Founded in 1896, this winery has built its reputation on an uncompromising dedication to tradition and excellence. In a region where the morning fog gently caresses the rows of vines, Massolino lovingly and rigorously cultivates the native varieties of Nebbiolo and Dolcetto, respecting the natural rhythm of the seasons and the vocation of the terroir.
The Barolo Margheria is the flagship of the production, a wine embodying the austerity and longevity typical of Serralunga. With its deep and complex character, this Barolo fascinates with its aromas of rose petals, ripe cherries, and earthy notes, evolving into tones of sweet spices and cocoa over the years. Each sip tells a story of patience and mastery, reflecting the very essence of this generous land.
Let yourself be seduced by the wines of Massolino available on Vino45: an invitation to discover the authentic spirit of Serralunga Barolo, where tradition and passion merge into an unparalleled enological experience.

THE WINE
Barolo 'Parussi' by Massolino is born in the renowned cru Parussi in Castiglione Falletto, on sandy and clayey soils that give the wine elegance and aromatic complexity. The Nebbiolo grapes, carefully hand-picked, ferment slowly with long maceration for maximum extraction of aromas and noble tannins. The aging continues for 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by at least 12 months in bottle, developing depth and harmony. On the nose, it opens with ripe red fruits, sweet spices, licorice, and balsamic notes, while on the palate it reveals itself to be structured, elegant, and persistent, with silky tannins and a remarkable aging potential. Ideal with braised dishes, game, significant roasts, truffle dishes, and aged cheeses. A Barolo that expresses the excellence of the territory and the distinctive style of Massolino.
THE COMPANY

The story of the winery Massolino began in 1896, the year Giovanni founded the company in Serralunga d'Alba. The first actual winery, however, was built by Giuseppe, Giovanni's son, who, along with his sister Angela, expanded the property by adding other lands and in 1934 founded the Barolo and Barbaresco protection consortium. Giovanni, Camilla, and Renato, three of Giuseppe's children, brought the company to a turning point by acquiring crus that have become true legends among enthusiasts: Vigna Rionda, Margheria, and Parafada.
Today, the company is led by brothers Franco and Roberto Massolino, assisted by their uncle Renato and Giovanni Angeli. Their work condenses the experience of an entire generation and the ambition of those who know they must honor a historic winery and a unique terroir, that of Serralunga d'Alba. In this picturesque medieval village, located on one of the beautiful hills of the Langhe, in the heart of the Barolo production area, the life of the winery Massolino thrives, now an essential national reference for the production of the highest quality wines.
"Making wine with passion, in its place of origin, preserving the typicity of the native grape variety with the belief that there exists a deep and tangible bond among the vines, the hills, and the winemakers, made of loyalty cemented by familiarity with the same places. Since 1896, the Massolino family has produced wine this way, faithful to this philosophy and the ability to innovate in the name of tradition. After all, faithful to itself." These are the words that describe the philosophy of the winery Massolino, a winery driven by love for its territory and its vineyards, always faithful to a family tradition that is now more than a century old.
