THE COMPANY
For a long time, Pfitscher has been synonymous with passion for good wine. It’s no coincidence that we are located in Montagna. Montagna is in Alto Adige, in the Bassa Atesina. And Bassa Atesina is dedicated to wine! We couldn’t do anything else even if we wanted to…
In our family, three generations of winemakers work and live together. It is amazing to see how the different characters and peculiarities of each family member come together and blend harmoniously: wisdom and creativity combined with true manual labor and a great dose of passion.
The Pfitscher family has been producing wine since 1861. More than 150 years during which our wine, as well as our philosophy, has undergone significant evolution. What was asked of wine in the past is very different from what is asked today. A change that our father Klaus recognized and understood 40 years ago when he decided to focus on vinifying more ambitious grape varieties and thus aim 100 percent for quality. A concept that, at the time, was not yet widespread in the Alto Adige wine production landscape. But the facts have proven him right. Today, our wines are an expression of the vital force of the vineyard and the genuine purity of the wine.
CASA CLIMA WINE
How did the Pfitscher winery become the first certified CasaClima Wine winery in Italy? Very simple: with our desire to live and work in harmony with Nature. For a product that is as natural and genuine as possible.
We confess: the certificate we received at the end of the construction work was not our primary goal! What we wanted was to best showcase our wine by producing it in a natural and sustainable context. It was only during the work that we learned about the certification from the CasaClima Agency of Alto Adige. And since our project already largely met the necessary requirements, we decided to try to obtain it. To receive the CasaClima Wine certificate, it was and still is necessary to take numerous measures to ensure sustainability and reduce environmental impact, in all sectors, from production to processing to packaging. A responsible approach to energy and water resources – and, not least, the quality of living – must also be respected. And we achieved this through collaboration with the Agency.
STEAPED VINEYARDS
We work various vineyards and lands in five municipalities of Alto Adige. A job that often makes us sweat! But it’s also a labor that is worth doing: wine lovers say that they appreciate the freshness and sincerity of our labels the most.
We produce our wine in the territory of five different municipalities, where the conditions could not be more varied, but always in perfect harmony with the different characters and quirks of our unmistakable wines.
