THE WINE
The Marsannay 'Les Echezots' by Domaine Bart is a splendid pure Pinot Noir made from grapes over thirty years old from the lands of Marsannay, in the northernmost part of the Còte D'Or in Burgundy. This area is a candidate to become Premier Cru soon. A wine of great pleasure and elegance. Fermentation in steel for 15/20 days and then aging, in 20% new barrels, for about 18 months. Structure, intensity, and fullness, perfect and smooth tannins, well-expressed mouth aromas, impeccable nose notes, an unforgettable Burgundy. It pairs well with earthy first courses or meat second courses.
THE COMPANY

The company, formed by Martin Bart and his sister Odille, is located in Marsannay-la-Côte, in Burgundy, in the northernmost wine-growing municipality of the Côte d'Or, just a few kilometers from Gevrey-Chambertin. The team expanded in the mid-2000s with the arrival of Pierre, Odille's son. 70% of the total vineyards of the Domaine, about 22 hectares, is located in the home municipality, while the remaining consists of some parcels in Fixin Les Hervelets, Chambolle-Musigny Les Véroilles, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, and Bonnes Mares. From these lands, wines of all kinds are created, whites, rosés, and reds, each with its own personality and character. The terroir of Marsannay is represented by different cuvées, including Les Champ Salomon, Finottes, and Les Grand Vignes. All these blends express different types of soil, which, although only a few kilometers apart, can produce completely different products from one another. Only 70% of the total production is sold under the Domaine Bart brand, while the remaining portion of the grapes is sold to 'négoce' companies. Regarding vineyard activities, the philosophy is focused on respecting nature and the surrounding environment: there is indeed no use of herbicides, fertilizers, or chemicals that could harm the ecosystem. Maniacal attention to detail, obtaining the most from the vineyards, while following ancient traditions with the utmost seriousness.
