THE WINE
The Merlot Riserva 'XV' by Alois Lageder originates from certified biodynamic viticulture, with vineyards located south of Magrè in the '15' vineyard, mostly planted with Merlot vines since 1957. A red wine of great substance and structure, with a refined style. An aromatic bouquet with notes of ripe red fruit followed by herbal hints and spicy tones. Try it with main courses based on meat; you'll find it perfect with pork stew.
THE COMPANY

A true synonym of excellence, Alois Lageder over the years has showcased the best that Alto Adige can express in terms of personality, elegance, and territorial adherence. This result stems from a clear vision of their work, where every activity is closely linked to the others in a virtuous circle that culminated in the conversion of their vineyards to biodynamics.
Founded in 1823 and now in its sixth generation, the company stands out for its ability to blend tradition and innovation: “quality is always the result of many details, sometimes minimal," recalls Alois Lageder, "and in all stages of processing, we first try to find harmony between all the factors involved, working in harmony with nature.” It's no coincidence that each wine is able, like few others in the region, to tell the diverse characteristics of its vineyard of origin - Alto Adige is indeed a land extremely rich in soil variety, microclimatic zones, and exposures, offering ideal conditions to produce wines with marked individuality. The grapes harvested in the family's vineyards, about 50 hectares between Magrè, Cortaccia, Termeno, and in the area of Lake Caldaro, are cultivated with certified organic and biodynamic methods by Demeter. Moreover, besides managing their own vineyards, the company collaborates with a number of trusted winemakers from different areas of Alto Adige, totaling an additional 110 hectares, about a quarter of which are cultivated according to biodynamic principles.
It is from this extraordinary context that wines are born, true ambassadors of the territory, captivating whites and reds that make up a selection composed of three quality levels: the Classics, the Terroir Selections, and the Masi.
