The Langhe Nebbiolo from La Spinetta comes from grapes located near Neive, an area dedicated to Barbaresco. Sustainable agriculture practices are followed in the vineyard. The aging lasts 12 months in second-pass French oak barrels. This is followed by a 2-month rest in steel and about 1 year of aging in glass. The wine is neither filtered nor clarified, in order not to lose any of its broad aromatic and flavor spectrum. It has an exuberant fruity component, rich and concentrated, with hints of plums, forest fruit jam, and rosehip. On the palate, it is pure velvet, thanks to well-crafted tannins, yet well balanced by a fresh component. Long and balsamic persistence. A delicious and inviting red that fully expresses the well-known qualities of the winery.

THE WINE
The Langhe Nebbiolo by La Spinetta comes from grapes located near Neive, a zone dedicated to Barbaresco. In the vineyard, sustainable agriculture practices are followed. The aging lasts for 12 months in second-use French oak barriques. This is followed by a 2-month resting period in steel and approximately 1 year of resting in glass. The wine is neither filtered nor clarified, to preserve its wide aromatic-tasting spectrum. It has an exuberant fruity component, rich and concentrated, with hints of plums, berry jam, and rose hips. On the palate, it is pure velvet, thanks to well-crafted tannins, yet well balanced by a fresh component. It has a long and balsamic persistence. A delicious and inviting red that fully expresses the well-known qualities of the winery.
THE COMPANY

La Spinetta is today one of the most important wineries in Piedmont, a true point of reference for the production of Barolo and Barbaresco. It is a family-run production reality that was established in 1977, when Giuseppe Rivetti, known as “Pin,” decided to move to the top of the hill of Castagnole Lanze, called La Spinetta, after getting married. It was here that Giuseppe began to experiment with a traditional sweet wine from Piedmont, Moscato. Since then, many steps forward have been taken, and the focus of production has shifted to the creation of red wines, with the birth of the first Barbareschi in the mid-90s. From this moment on, the ascent of the winery La Spinetta has been continuous, so much so that the great successes led the ownership to expand beyond the Piedmontese borders, moving into Tuscany, where in 2001, 65 hectares were purchased between Pisa and Volterra. Today, La Spinetta is skillfully run by Giorgio, Bruno, and Carlo Rivetti, representatives of a family that has made hard work the secret of its success.
La Spinetta spans approximately 100 hectares of vineyards, acquired over time with great care. The vineyards benefit from excellent exposure, facing south, southeast, and southwest, and the vines are all of an average age between 35 and 65 years, ideal for producing expressive and compact wines. The wines of La Spinetta are born exclusively from indigenous grape varieties that historically belong to the areas in which they grow and develop. This is a decidedly wise choice, aiming to enhance the territory, avoiding the uniformity of flavors that too often goes in fashion. Nebbiolo primarily, Barbera, and Moscato are the main grapes, cultivated with very low yields and with meticulous work, because only through careful daily care of the vineyard can great wines be born.
It is precisely about great bottles that one must speak, looking at the range produced each year by the winery La Spinetta, where red wines are the undisputed stars of a production that speaks and narrates the territory impeccably, bringing to life the oldest traditions of the Langhe in the light of the most modern technologies. Of course, one cannot help but fall in love with the different labels dedicated to Barbaresco and Barolo, wines that, in every variation, are capable of astonishing, always reaching absolute perfection.
