Vougeot AOC Premier Cru Pinot Noir 'Stéphane Brocard' 2019 Closerie des Alisiers comes from the Côte de Nuits, one of Burgundy’s finest areas. The vines grow on clay-limestone soils, giving complexity and elegance to pure Pinot Noir, cultivated without chemicals or synthetics. The warm, low-yield 2019 vintage produced concentrated, aromatic grapes, vinified in wood and aged 15 months in oak barrels, partly new. The bouquet is intense and elegant, with plum, dark cherry, violet, licorice and sweet spices. The palate is silky, structured and fresh, with velvety tannins and long persistence, ideal with red meats, game and aged cheeses.

THE COMPANY
Stephane Brocard, son of Jean Marc Brocard, a well-known winemaker from Chablis, settled in Marsannay, in the north of Côte de Nuits, in 2007. Here he founded the Maison Stephane Brocard and his brand of hand-selected wines, Closerie des Alisiers. In addition to his work in his vineyards in Pommard and the old village of Daix, he has been working for years with the same winemakers and the same lands for the wines he produces.
His philosophy is to produce genuine and authentic wines with the utmost respect for the environment. He seeks purity, fruitiness, and freshness. The range includes regional, village, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru designations from Burgundy, from Chablis to Mâconnais, passing through many of the best appellations of Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. Stéphane Brocard aims to highlight the terroirs through the grape varieties of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Recently, he has also introduced a selection of organic wines. His company has obtained organic farming certification.
Closérie des Alisiers owns 2 hectares in Pommard and Daix (north of Côte de Nuits). For the production of wines under the Closérie des Alisiers label, he has several partners in the production for different appellations.
