THE WINE
The Brunello di Montalcino from Val di Suga comes from the three vineyards owned by Val di Suga in Montalcino, in the three historical areas. It is a blend that combines the three main exposures, each with different geo-climatic characteristics. The composition of these three wines rewards us with a special balance between the features of each area: a unique balance between freshness and structure, body and elegance.
THE COMPANY
A company with a unique characteristic within the Montalcino terroir, Val di Suga stands out from other companies in the area for its famous three vineyards located in the three exposures of Montalcino. Three vineyards, essentially, marked by deeply different characteristics: Vigna del Lago is exposed to the north, Vigna Spuntali is located to the southwest, and Poggio al Granchio is located to the southeast. Thus, the unique difference of the company, which is part of the Bertani Domains group, compared to others operating in Montalcino, is being able to count on vineyards that are completely different from theirs and therefore produce three types of Brunello that are equally different.
The winery, located northeast of the municipality of Montalcino, is part of the original complex that has now been renovated and reorganized with a new underground barrel room and covers a total area of 120 hectares, of which 55 are planted and cultivated with Sangiovese. The added value of Val di Suga lies precisely in the diversification of being able to offer three variants of Brunello that are the perfect representation of three great crus, where the evolutions of Sangiovese are expressed in the totality of wines that are true cults of Montalcino enology.
