The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 'Diecianni' by Le Chiuse is one of the excellences of this small area of Tuscany. The grapes used to produce this wine come from different vineyards, some cultivated on the northern and northeastern side of the Montalcino hill. For the Riserva, only the best bunches are selected during the harvest. The Diecianni, compared to the Riserva, extends the aging process up to 10 years, achieving greater balance and complexity. It is a red of great thickness, rich, intense, and of high quality. It belongs to the excellence of the current landscape of great Italian reds. Elegant and multifaceted, with important body and structure, fine and well-integrated tannic texture, complex and deep aromas, and a fresh finish.

Le Chiuse

Amidst the lush hills of Tuscany, in the heart of Montalcino, stands the winery Le Chiuse, a true gem that combines history and tradition. Part of an ancient cru that once belonged to the famous Biondi Santi family, Le Chiuse today represents a symbol of classicism and elegance in the Tuscan wine scene. The land here, kissed by the sun and caressed by the winds, is the perfect natural stage for cultivating Sangiovese, the grape that gives life to one of Italy's most iconic wines: Brunello di Montalcino DOCG.
The production philosophy of Le Chiuse is based on a deep respect for local winemaking traditions, combined with an unconditional dedication to quality. Every bunch of Sangiovese is cultivated with care, following methods that respect the harmony of the land and its biodiversity. This approach allows the winery to produce wines that are not only authentic expressions of the terroir but also oenological works of art that reflect the character and soul of Montalcino.
The flagship of Le Chiuse's production is undoubtedly their Brunello, a wine that embodies the elegance and complexity of Sangiovese. Every bottle tells a story of intensity and refinement, with aromas ranging from ripe cherry notes to hints of tobacco and leather, all wrapped in a tannic embrace that promises a long evolution over time. This Brunello is a tribute to the land and tradition, an invitation to discover the depth and beauty of Tuscan viticulture.
Let yourself be seduced by the timeless elegance of Le Chiuse wines, available on Vino45, and experience a sensory journey that will take you to the heart of Montalcino, among its ancient vines and millenary history. An unmissable journey for lovers of quality wine and Italian tradition.

THE COMPANY

The winery “Le Chiuse” boasts one of the most fascinating stories in all of Montalcino, dating back to the 1700s and closely linked to the history of the Tenuta Il Greppo of Biondi Santi. Le Chiuse was once part of the holdings of the Biondi Santi family, and was brought as a dowry by Maria Tamanti when she married Clemente Santi.
“Le Chiuse”, named so because the vineyard was enclosed and surrounded within the Tenuta. There the first Brunello Riserva Biondi Santi was born. Tancredi Biondi Santi then bequeathed the vineyard to his daughter Fiorella - the very vineyard where the Brunello Riserva was born - with the recommendation never to sell it. Fiorella did not sell but rented it to her brother Franco, owner of the Tenuta Il Greppo. With Fiorella's death in the early '90s, her daughter Simonetta Valiani began to produce the Brunello from this vineyard herself, building an underground cellar and planting new vineyards through mass selections, to maintain the genetic heritage of the old vines.
The estate currently spans a total area of 18 hectares, divided among woods, vineyards, and olive groves, on the north, northeast, and southeast slopes of Montalcino. The vineyards, when combined, cover about eight hectares, all cultivated with the sangiovese grosso variety, and since 2001 have been rigorously managed according to organic farming criteria.
Le Chiuse bottles two Brunello, a base and a Riserva, and a Rosso di Montalcino, in addition to a classic method sparkling wine, the "Stellare". The labels that come from what was once the estate of the Biondi Santi, magically maintain consistently high qualitative standards season after season, in a sort of extraordinary historical continuity that seems impossible to interrupt.
