The Malbec 'Gran Vu' by Salentein is a blend of Malbec (73%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (27%). It hails from the Valle de Uco in Mendoza, near the Andes, from small parcels of vineyards: the Malbec at 1,200 meters s.l.m. from 20-year-old vineyards and the Cabernet Sauvignon from 17-year-old vineyards at 1,150 meters s.l.m.. The grapes are hand-picked early in the morning and sent to the winery where the clusters are hand-selected. The wine is aged for 24 months in French oak. Right from the start, the aromas of red fruits, licorice, and mint stand out, followed by notes of sweet spices. On the palate, it is elegant and well-structured with soft and velvety tannins. It evokes berries, spices, and graphite notes with a long and persistent finish. Annual production 6,000 bottles.

Salentein

In the majestic heart of the Uco Valley, where the Andes stand watch like ancient guardians, the winery Salentein rises, a jewel of Argentine winemaking. Founded with a clear vision to elevate Argentine wine to international standards, Salentein has become a beacon of elegance and quality in the Mendoza region. Here, at an altitude that challenges the limits of traditional viticulture, the vines thrive in a unique terroir, producing wines that are authentic expressions of the purest and most unspoiled Argentina.
The Uco Valley, with its cool climate and extreme altitudes, is the ideal stage for Malbec, the country's flagship grape, and for the refined Chardonnay. Salentein, with a production philosophy that combines innovation and respect for nature, cultivates these varieties with meticulous care, producing wines that express a surprising complexity and depth. Each bottle is a tribute to the land, a journey through the intense aromas and vibrant flavors that only these lands can offer.
Among the main labels, Numina and Primus Malbec stand out for their impeccable structure and their ability to tell stories of passion and dedication. Numina, a masterfully orchestrated blend, enchants with its notes of ripe fruit and spices, while Primus Malbec, powerful and seductive, opens with aromas of blackberry and chocolate, supported by velvety tannins and extraordinary persistence.
We invite wine lovers to discover on Vino45 the refined creations of Salentein: an invitation to be carried away by the magic of a region that, with its wines, continues to enchant and surprise the whole world.

THE WINE
The Malbec 'Gran Vu' from Salentein is a blend of Malbec (73%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (27%). It is produced in the Uco Valley of Mendoza, at the foot of the Andes, from small vineyard parcels: the Malbec is grown at 1,200 meters above sea level from 20-year-old vineyards, and the Cabernet Sauvignon from 17-year-old vineyards at 1,150 meters above sea level. The grapes are hand-picked early in the morning and sent to the winery where the clusters are hand-selected. The wine is aged for 24 months in French oak. Immediately, notes of red fruits, licorice, and mint stand out, followed by hints of sweet spices. On the palate, it is elegant and well-structured with soft, velvety tannins. It evokes berries, spices, and notes of graphite, with a long and persistent finish. Annual production is 6,000 bottles.
THE COMPANY

At the foot of the Andes mountain range, in the Uco Valley wine region, lies the Argentine winery Salentein, born with a precise goal: to produce top-tier wines linked to their territory of origin. The modern winery was designed based on two guiding concepts: aesthetics and functionality.
The nearly 50 hectares of vineyards cultivated by Salentein are located in the Uco Valley, Mendoza, where the vines benefit from soils primarily composed of sand and silt, high altitudes approaching 1,700 meters above sea level, and a dry climate characterized by significant temperature fluctuations between day and night. In this pedoclimatic context, the estate applies sustainable viticulture in the cultivation of Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc.
The winery Salentein is responsible for extensive production centered on Malbec, the emblematic grape variety of the Mendoza region, accompanied by numerous other premium labels from international grapes. The main selections offered by the winery are: ‘Numina’, a line that expresses the spirit of the area where the estate was founded; ‘Single Vineyard’, from individual parcels located in the highest area of the Uco Valley; and ‘Primus’, an iconic range produced exclusively in the best vintages. In general, the wines from Salentein manage to combine the maturity brought by Mendoza's sunny climate, the lifted freshness provided by the high altitudes of the land, and the pronounced aromatic fragrance that comes from significant temperature fluctuations.
