The Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva Vigna Castel Ringberg 2018 by Elena Walch comes from the vineyard overlooking Lake Caldaro, where clay and limestone soils provide depth and character. The 2018 vintage, warm but balanced by a fresh, breezy September, allowed slow and complete ripening, enhancing balance and freshness. Advanced harvesting and transport techniques preserved grape integrity. The wine ages 18 months in French oak barriques and then in bottle, gaining complexity. The bouquet shows berries, blackberries, blueberries, plums, spices, tobacco, cloves, and dark chocolate. The palate reveals body, fruity savor, soft tannins, and balanced acidity, with a long finish. Perfect with red meats, game, and aged cheeses.

THE COMPANY
Elena Walch is a prominent family-run winery in South Tyrol, a jewel of Italian wine production and renowned internationally. A promoter of quality and innovation, Elena Walch has helped to lead the qualitative revolution in South Tyrol, earning great local and international recognition. An architect by profession, Elena Walch married the heir of one of the oldest winemaking families in the region, bringing with her new concepts for modernizing the traditional business. Today, the management of the company is entrusted to her daughters Julia and Karoline Walch, the fifth generation of the family.
The company philosophy is closely linked to its terroir: the principle is that the wines should be a unique expression of their soil, climate, and the work done in the vineyard, and that the vineyard should be cultivated according to the principles of sustainability and left as such to future generations. The deep belief that the quality of wine originates in the vineyard thus carries with it the desire to work uncompromisingly, respecting the individual characteristics of each vineyard. With 60 hectares under cultivation, including the prominent vineyards VIGNA Castel Ringberg in Caldaro and VIGNA Kastelaz in Tramin, Elena Walch is among the most important wine personalities in South Tyrol.
The wines are distinguished by character, elegance, and strong personality, combined with the highest professionalism in their production. The superb climatic conditions and the exceptional position of the estates give rise to fresh and fruity white wines, as well as concentrated and soft red wines.
