Burgundy: Côte d'Or

The Côte d’Or represents the heart of Burgundy and is divided into two complementary areas: the Côte de Nuits to the north and the Côte de Beaune to the south. Together, they offer some of the most prestigious terroirs in the world, renowned for their ability to express Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at the highest levels.

The Côte de Nuits extends from Dijon to Corgoloin and includes 36 AOC: 6 regional, the sub-regional Côte-de-Nuits-Villages, and 8 communal appellations such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée, and Nuits-Saint-Georges. It boasts 24 Grand cru, the absolute pinnacle of Burgundy, where Pinot Noir delivers intense, elegant wines of extraordinary longevity.

The Côte de Beaune extends from Ladoix-Serrigny to Dezize-lès-Maranges and includes 16 communal appellations, along with the sub-regional appellation Côte de Beaune-Villages. Here, 8 Grand cru legendary wines are born, including Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, Corton, and Corton-Charlemagne, the ultimate expression of Chardonnay. Alongside the great whites, Pinot Noir finds character and finesse in denominations like Pommard, Volnay, Beaune, and Santenay.
