Schioppettino
Schioppettino is a wine that tells a story of rediscovery and passion, intrinsically linked to the Friulian hills, where it has found its ideal home. Also known as Ribolla Nera, this native red of Friuli Venezia Giulia has deep historical roots, dating back to the 13th century. After a period of almost total oblivion, Schioppettino was saved from extinction by a determined community of winemakers who believed in its unique potential.
The Schioppettino grapes give life to a wine with a bold character and a seductive organoleptic profile. Its production is mainly concentrated in the areas of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, where the vineyards benefit from a mild climate and rich soil, which enhance the intrinsic characteristics of this grape variety. The carefully harvested clusters are vinified according to traditional techniques that preserve their authenticity and enhance their aromatic notes.
From an organoleptic perspective, Schioppettino presents with an intense ruby red color and violet hues. On the nose, it intoxicates with a complex and engaging bouquet, where aromas of wild berries, such as blackberry and raspberry, stand out, enriched by spicy hints of black pepper, licorice, and a delicate touch of vanilla, a result of aging in wood. On the palate, this wine stands out for its elegant structure and harmonious balance, characterized by velvety tannins and a pleasant freshness that invites another sip.
Schioppettino is a wine that surprises and captivates, ideal for those who wish to explore authentic and unconventional flavors. It pairs perfectly with rich and flavorful dishes, such as roasts, grilled meats, and game, but also enhances aged and savory cheeses. Its versatility makes it an ideal companion for convivial dinners and moments of relaxation.
On Vino45, we invite you to discover our selection of Schioppettino, a curated collection of labels that celebrate the tradition and innovation of Friulian winemakers. Let yourself be enchanted by the elegance and personality of this wine and experience a sensory journey through the hills of Friuli, discovering a red that knows how to thrill and tell a unique story of rebirth and passion.
