The Venezia Giulia Rosso IGT “Ego” 2018 by Bressan is the result of the estate’s expertise, each bottle hand-signed as a mark of authenticity. A blend of Cabernet Franc and Schioppettino, from over 30-year-old vines in Farra d’Isonzo, grown with respectful methods and low yields. Harvested in late vintage, the grapes undergo slow spontaneous fermentation in steel, followed by at least three years in oak barrels and 15 more months in bottle. The bouquet shows undergrowth, pepper, moss, truffle, and aromatic woods. The palate is full, intense, velvety, with long persistence. Perfect with game, braised meats, and aged cheeses, it pairs elegantly with Friulian tradition’s richest dishes.

Here, where the gentle hills blend with the fresh breezes of the Adriatic, grapes are passionately cultivated, telling the story of a generous and mysterious land. The IGT Venezia Giulia designation is the stage on which Bressan showcases its wine spectacle, a sensory journey rooted in ancient practices and uncompromising methods.
The production philosophy of Bressan is a hymn to nature and craftsmanship. Each glass is the result of a process that respects the natural cycle, where the hand of man guides wisely and sensitively. The grapes, including the distinctive Schioppettino and the refined Pinot Grigio, are cultivated using traditional methods, without invasive interventions, to preserve the essence of the terroir and the purity of varietal expression.
The wines of Bressan are a symphony of character and complexity. Their Schioppettino stands out for its bold personality, with spicy notes and a robust body that envelops the senses in an engaging embrace. THE COMPANY

Fulvio Bressan is an unconventional winemaker from Friuli who categorically rejects the fleeting and homogenizing trends that abound in the wine world, proudly following a niche production vision aimed at offering the truest expression of the Isonzo territory. The ancient winemaking roots of the Bressan family date back to the 18th century, while recent recognition is owed to Fulvio L. Bressan, the ninth generation of “master winemakers” and current owner, who has led the winery in Farra d'Isonzo to its definitive consecration on a global level. For the estate's logo, the Bressan family has taken the family crest, which features the ansate cross at its center.
Within the approximately 20 hectares of owned vineyards, on soils made up of layers of gravel laid over clays and sandstone marls, Fulvio Bressan cultivates both indigenous and international varieties such as Friulano, Verduzzo, Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana, Schioppettino, Pignolo, Moscato Rosa, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Nero, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The plants are grown according to a truly sustainable and conscientious viticulture, which excludes the use of synthetic chemicals and involves manual execution of agronomic operations, respecting the natural cycle of the vine. Harvesting is done only when the grapes have reached full ripeness and is followed by spontaneous alcoholic fermentation of the musts in stainless steel tanks, in contact with the skins even for white grapes. The winemaking containers used for aging include stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels of various capacities and types, where the wines mature for a long time on the fine lees until bottling, which is done without any prior filtration.
The wines from the Bressan winery are true jewels of Friulian artisanal winemaking, characterized by exemplary typicity stemming from a solid peasant culture. From orange wines to red wines, including the peculiar ‘Rosantico’, Fulvio Bressan's labels are unique expressions that reflect the strong personality of their creator.
