Vie di Romans

In the heart of the Friulian plain, in Mariano del Friuli, lies Vie di Romans, a winery that has become a symbol of elegance and winemaking precision. For three generations, the Gallo family has nurtured its vision here, led today by Gianfranco Gallo, who has transformed a traditional family estate into a benchmark for fine Italian white wines. The 60 hectares of vineyards grow on gravelly-calcareous soils, formed by the alluvial deposits of the Isonzo River, which provide excellent drainage and encourage deep root systems. The unique climate is tempered by breezes from the Adriatic Sea and sheltered by the Julian Alps, creating sharp temperature variations that enhance the grapes’ aromatic profile and freshness.
In both vineyard and cellar, Vie di Romans follows a clear philosophy: absolute respect for the fruit, meticulous hand harvesting, rigorous selection, and extended maturation times. One of its hallmarks is the delayed release of its wines, offered to the market only after they have fully developed their complexity. This approach gives life to iconic labels such as Chardonnay Vie di Romans, refined and mineral; Flors di Uis, an intriguing blend of Malvasia Istriana, Riesling Renano, and Friulano; Dessimis, a distinctive copper-hued Pinot Grigio; and Vieris, a Sauvignon Blanc of vibrant intensity.
Each bottle tells the story of the deep connection between man and land, balancing technical precision with artisanal sensitivity. It’s no surprise that collectors and wine lovers worldwide seek out these labels: they are wines that age beautifully, retaining freshness and depth. On Vino45, you can explore and purchase the most representative selections from Vie di Romans, bringing the very essence of the Friuli Isonzo to your table.
