The Franciacorta Zèro 2020 by Contadi Castaldi comes from a cuvée of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir, grown on morainic soils that give the wine sapidity and taste precision. The 2020 vintage, marked by balanced weather and steady ripening, produced a wine of elegant energy and mineral tension, combining structure with finesse. Bottle refermentation with aging on the lees for 38–42 months and a further 6 months after disgorgement enhances its aromatic depth and complexity. The nose shows notes of ripe citrus, fresh hazelnut, and lemon thyme, while the palate reveals a taut, vibrant, and persistent profile. Perfect with raw seafood, shellfish, or aged cheeses, it expresses the purest essence of the Contadi Castaldi style.

Contadi Castaldi

Contadi Castaldi was founded in 1987 in Adro, in the heart of Franciacorta, from an intuition of Vittorio Moretti, already the founder of the famous winery Bellavista. The transformation of an ancient furnace, purchased due to an emotional connection with the childhood memories of his wife, marks the beginning of a success story, where memory, innovation, and entrepreneurial vision blend into a unique project.
Today Contadi Castaldi is synonymous with contemporary style, creative experimentation, and oenological excellence. It is the winery that has most revolutionized Franciacorta, maintaining a deep connection with tradition while simultaneously opening new pathways for the future of the Metodo Classico. Among its merits, it stands out for having expertly interpreted and enhanced the Satèn type, becoming a reference point for enthusiasts and connoisseurs around the world.
The estate spans a vast vineyard area and has over 7,000 square meters of modern facilities where the entire production cycle takes place: from the soft pressing of the grapes to aging on the lees in the bottle. Every detail is crafted with artisanal precision and technological vision, in strict compliance with the timelines imposed by the Metodo Classico.
Contadi Castaldi is not just a winery, but a true research laboratory where innovation and education meet. Masterclasses, events, and collaborations with international experts fuel a continuous process of growth and experimentation.
Vino45 is proud to offer in its catalog the labels signed by Contadi Castaldi, to provide a sensory experience that encapsulates the vibrant soul of Franciacorta. Each bottle tells a story of passion, family, and future, ready to seduce anyone who loves artisanal bubbles.

THE COMPANY

Contadi Castaldi was founded in 1987 in Adro, when Vittorio Moretti, already the owner of the Bellavista winery, decided to transform an old kiln he had purchased due to its connection to his wife's childhood memories into a sparkling wine house. It became a famous and innovative winery in Franciacorta, able to combine charm, experimentation, modernity, and excellence, thanks to the ancient and deeply rooted passion for wine of the Moretti family, along with extraordinary entrepreneurial skills.
One of the merits of this Franciacorta reality has been, for example, the deepening and development of the concept of Satèn, and for this reason, the winery has become a major reference point for this type.
Currently, the wineries have a large park of vineyards and about 7,000 square meters of indoor spaces that host the entire production cycle, from pressing the grapes to aging on the lees in the bottle according to the Classic Method. Significant investments are reserved for research and experimentation, also stimulated through the organization of wine training masterclasses.
