THE WINE
Trento DOCBrut ReserveOf LetrariMillesimato is obtained from the union of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir harvested exclusively by hand, with a minimum aging on the lees of 36 months to enhance its soft elegance. A fresh and lively wine, full-bodied and with solid structure, featuring soft elegance and an exceptionally persistent finish, just like its very fine perlage.
THE FAMILY
Letrari, a family that has roots in the very history of Trentino wine. Active since 1647 in Borghetto d'Avio, on the banks of the Adige River, first as river raftsmen, then as merchants and shrewd agricultural innovators. With Leonello Letrari right on the wine scene of good drinking. It is thanks to him that in the immediate post-war period, the wines of the Dolomites gain character and prestige beyond regional borders. It is always him who 'creates' the first blends, and in the 1960s he begins to produce high-quality sparkling wines. Then, in 1976, together with his wife Maria Vittoria, he founds the current family business.
Tradition and innovation are the creed of our company, constantly applied with modern agronomic practices, through the work and dedication of the new generations.
The same passion that drives Leonello today also inspires the commitment of his daughter Lucia (an oenologist like her father), to whom the greatest responsibilities of the company are entrusted.
THE PHILOSOPHY
From the very beginning, all our efforts have been dedicated to offering our admirers high-quality products and to conveying to them the terroir and our personal philosophy on the art of winemaking. Our wines are made from grapes produced in our own vineyards located in the most suitable areas of Vallagarina and the Land of Forts.
Nothing happens by chance... it's our motto!
Every bottle of TRENTODOC Letrari It is indeed the perfect synthesis, the sweet harmony of a series of precious elements that contribute to the best final result.
Our Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, sourced from the most highly suited areas of Vallagariana, are still harvested by hand today and reach the Rovereto Winery within a few hours, to be immediately pressed gently and undergo the first fermentation in steel, at a controlled temperature.
The best SELECTED YEASTS are used, along with first-choice cane sugar, to create the magic of bottle refermentation according to the traditional method.
At least 24 months of aging on the yeasts are required to create the inimitable fragrances of our Brut, Dosaggio Zero, and Brut Rosè. For the +4 Rosè, we must wait at least 30 months, and for the poetry of a Brut Riserva and Dosaggio Zero Riserva, one must wait at least 48 months. 976, the Founder’s Reserve, is produced only in the best vintages, from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes of absolute excellence, vinified with care to create a truly special TRENTODOC, which is left to "rest" on the yeasts for no less than 96 MONTHS.
THE VINEYARDS
Vallagarina, in its recent past as the extreme outpost of the Habsburg Empire, was renowned for the production of structured red wines with remarkable personality, capable of lasting over time.
But the enological vocation of this area, which is still almost intact in its overall landscape and environmental aspects, has historical roots that are much older, dating back to Roman times.
The farm Letrari It has implemented a cultivation program that involves several hectares of vineyards located in the Borghetto all'Adige and Nogaredo areas, with careful qualitative selection of the grapes.
Fine wines are born from careful study of the soil and the location of the vineyards.
Areas characterized by an unparalleled landscape, territorial, and climatic unity such as the lower Vallagarina, and in particular the enclave of Borghetto all'Adige, which boasts a millennia-old vocation and winemaking history.
Poor and rocky soils where the vine alternates with the olive tree (thanks to the particular microclimate generated by the Ora of... Garda), very fortunate exhibitions that allow for regular ripening and correct production per vine, have made it possible, after further selections and low yields per hectare, to obtain grapes of excellence.
