The Spumante Brut Classic Cuvée by Hoffmann & Rathbone originates in Southern England, in Sussex with a view of the Channel. A family-run winery that employs traditional methods while always looking towards the future. The vineyards benefit from a moderate climate, thanks also to the influence of sea breezes. Manual harvesting and gentle pressing. Fermentation occurs in steel and partially in wood, the latter then added to the final must for a more pronounced structure. It ages in the bottle for 66 months. Aromas of sweet almonds, hazelnuts, peach, and raspberries are well balanced and inviting; on the palate, a balanced freshness is accompanied by softness and finesse with notes of apple and fruit nectar, making for an interesting drink. A "Champagne" from across the sea.

THE MAISON

Hoffmann & Rathbone is located in Mountfield, East Sussex, in the beautiful countryside of Southern England. Hoffmann & Rathbone represents a new heritage and a new philosophy in the creation of Sparkling Wines founded on love, passion, and commitment.
Hoffmann & Rathbone approaches wine creation in a modern and minimalist way. They create their wines with great attention and care, only harvesting the most mature grapes, which are gently pressed to separate the juice from the skins. The magic of the transformation from grape cluster to Sparkling Wines is purely a matter of attention to detail and absolute care.
The extremely refined and delicate flavor that characterizes these Sparkling Wines is due to a perfect combination of art and patience. Ulrich Hoffmann brings a personal heritage of experience in winemaking and the technology to be used in the vineyard, thanks to his international career that began 16 years ago at the prestigious Rolf-Willy winery in Baden-Wuttemberg, at Chateu de Fieuzal and Chateau Haut-Gardere in Bordeaux; moving on to Artadi in Navarra, Cain Vineyards in Napa Valley, Bolney Estate in Sussex, and Gusborne Estate in Kent. One of the wines created by him was served on the Royal Barge during the celebrations of the Queen's Jubilee. Ulrich believes that sparkling wine creates special occasions. He has always loved the process of creating sparkling wines, and in this area, there is a perfect combination of cool climate, grape variety, and soil. Ulrich, together with his wife Birgit Rathbone, combining their names, have given life to a new heritage and a unique and wonderful brand.
