Bolgheri Rosso DOC 'Il Bruciato' 2024 (750 ml.) Antinori

The Bolgheri DOC “Il Bruciato” by Antinori is produced at the Tenuta Guado al Tasso, in the heart of the famous “Bolgheri amphitheater”, on the coast of the Upper Maremma. Considered the younger brother of Guado al Tasso, it offers a modern, harmonious, and accessible style. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Petit Verdot. After fermentation and maceration in steel, it ages for several months in barriques, developing softness and complexity. On the nose, it releases aromas of ripe red fruits, plum, and sweet spices, while on the palate it is rich yet delicate, with sweet tannins, concentration, and persistence. An elegant red, balanced and enveloping, ideal for red meats and aged cheeses.

The Antinori Family has been dedicated to wine production for over six hundred years: since 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri. Throughout its long history, through 26 generations, the family has always directly managed this activity with innovative and sometimes courageous choices, but always maintaining unwavering respect for traditions and the territory.

Today the company is led by Albiera Antinori, with the support of her two sisters Allegra and Alessia, who are personally involved in the company activities. The Marquis Piero Antinori is currently the Honorary President of the company. Tradition, passion, and intuition have been the driving qualities that have led the Marchesi Antinori to establish themselves as one of the leading Italian wine producers. Every vintage, every land, every idea that wants to be implemented is a new beginning, a new search for ever higher quality margins.

As the Marquis Piero likes to say: “the ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never inhibited our innovative spirit.” Over time, in addition to the estates in Tuscany and Umbria, which are the family's historical heritage, investments have been made in other areas suitable for quality wine production both in Italy and abroad, where a new path of enhancing new "terroirs" with high wine-growing potential could be undertaken. The Marchesi Antinori expresses its passion for viticulture by seeking ever finer margins of improvement. For this reason, continuous experiments are carried out in vineyards and cellars with selections of clones of native and international grapes, types of cultivation, vineyard altitudes, fermentation methods and temperatures, traditional and modern winemaking techniques, different types of wood, sizes and ages of barrels, and varying the length of bottle aging. "We have demonstrated, over the years, that in Tuscany and Umbria there was the possibility to produce quality wines, recognized internationally, which could show elegance and finesse while always maintaining the original character.

Our library has many titles, but for us, it is not rich enough. We have a mission that is not entirely accomplished, which drives us to express the vast potential of our vineyards and to reconcile the new that remains to be discovered with the heritage of Tuscan taste that includes tradition, culture, agriculture, the artistic and the literary that indeed represent the identity of the Marchesi Antinori, of which one of the major strengths lies in being Tuscan, or, if you prefer, our 'Tuscanity'." Piero Antinori

The Antinori family has been part of PFV, "Premum Familiae Vini," an informal association of family-owned wine companies, since its founding. PFV goes beyond geographical boundaries and maintains a common bond: that of vineyard ownership and wine production as a family activity to be cultivated and refined, like a great wine, over time.

Address:

via Cassia per Siena, 133 Loc. Bargino, 50026 San Casciano val di Pesa (FI) Italy

Color: intense and bright ruby red, with slight violet hues that emphasize its youth and liveliness.

Bouquet: complex and harmonious aromas emerge. At first, fruity notes of blackberry, ripe cherry, and plum are perceived, followed by spicy accents of black pepper and vanilla. The bouquet is enriched with balsamic nuances, sweet tobacco, and a slight toasted scent derived from aging in wood.

Taste: soft and enveloping, with a balanced structure and well-integrated tannins, silky yet present. The sip is dynamic, with good freshness that balances the maturity of the fruit. The finish is long, with spicy and fruity hints that prolong its persistence.
