The Langhe Pinot Nero by G.D. Vajra comes from organic farming in the highest vineyards of Bricco delle Viole, between Barolo and La Morra. A unique place, suspended between the Alta Langa and Monviso, where each plot is harvested separately, often in multiple passes, to respect the identity of each vine. The aging takes place for 24 months in stainless steel and oak barrels, with patience and precision, until full harmony is achieved. The result is an authentic Pinot Nero, which best expresses its connection to the territory. The bouquet is broad and refined: maraschino cherries, violets, delicate herbs, all supported by an elegant structure with dense and noble tannins. A red of great character, perfect with white meat dishes, mushrooms, truffles or soft cheeses. It is a choice of authenticity and style.

THE COMPANY
“We produce Barolo but not only, because we love all the wines of our land. We believe in beauty, in well-done work, in attention to detail, in creativity that respects tradition. We are a family-run and artisan company. We are accompanied by a young, enthusiastic, and passionate team. We directly oversee the work in our vineyards, because it is the foundation of uncompromising quality, but above all, because we enjoy it so much. Our wines are born elegant, complex, and delicate. They have the identity and personality we would like to find in every glass on our table.” These are the words with which the Vajra company presents itself: a true and undisputed reference point of the Langhe lands, a winery that has always been linked to the traditions and territory it belongs to, capable over time of establishing itself with products that have reached absolute quality levels.
Vajra is one of the historic names of the Piedmontese Langhe, since 1972, the company has an area of vineyards covering a total of fifty hectares. Located in the municipality of Barolo, the winery produces strongly territorial wines, starting from all the most typical grape varieties of the area.
A family-run business, where two generations work side by side, creating a dynamic blend of loyalty to the oldest local traditions and a particular attention to the most modern technical and scientific innovations that progress can currently offer: massal selections, treatments done with the utmost respect for the territory and nature using synthetic products only where strictly necessary. During the harvest, and even afterwards, rigorous selections of the grapes are made, to ensure that each bottle achieves the maximum result in terms of fidelity to the grape variety and the Langhe terroir. Wines simply excellent, those labeled “Vajra”, capable of expressing, like few others, the best oenological essence of the Piedmontese lands.
