The Nizza 'Augusta' by Isolabella della Croce is a Barbera d'Asti Superiore produced in a highly suitable restricted area, comprising 18 municipalities around Nizza Monferrato, with extremely strict rules regarding both the vineyard and the wine. The grapes are hand-picked at full ripeness, destemmed, and gently pressed. The wine is aged in small oak barrels for about 12 months before being bottled. It then undergoes an additional resting period of at least 18 months in the bottle. It has a ruby red color with evident violet reflections, a complex aroma of good intensity, hints of candied fruit, vanilla, and a slight toast. On the palate, it is dry, warm, full-bodied, with good structure and persistence, featuring pleasant light tannins in good harmony.

THE COMPANY

The company originates from the passion of the Isolabella della Croce family for Loazzolo, a charming village nestled in a natural amphitheater at over 500 m. s.l.m. The vines are immersed in the woods, thus protected from the scorching summer heat, with nighttime temperature fluctuations reaching up to fifteen degrees. The main production focuses on the barbera grape variety, expressed in the two DOCG of Nizza and Barbera d'Asti Superiore. The Moscato d'Asti also finds its natural expression in these places, alongside two internationally styled wines, such as Pinot Noir and Sauvignon, which the company has focused on in recent years.
