Barbera d'Alba DOC 'Peiragal' 2021 (750 ml.) Marchesi di Barolo

Barbera d'Alba DOC Peiragal 2021 is produced by Marchesi di Barolo from Barbera grapes grown on the hills of the Langhe, on well-exposed slopes with compact calcareous-clay soils rich in stones. This terroir limits water absorption and promotes deep root development. The 2021 vintage resulted in a wine of remarkable balance. Vinification includes traditional fermentation and aging for over nine months, partly in small French oak barrels and partly in traditional large casks, followed by blending in a single tank. On the nose, it reveals intense sensory characteristics of ripe red fruit, spices, toasted notes and balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is well-structured, with moderate acidity, well-integrated alcohol, sweet tannins and a harmonious finish.

Marchesi di Barolo

In the heart of the picturesque hilly landscape of the Langhe, where the morning fog envelops the rows in a silent embrace, stands the prestigious winery Marchesi di Barolo. With roots dating back to 1807, this historic winery is a pillar of the Piedmontese wine tradition, a silent witness to the transformation of Barolo into one of the most celebrated wines in the world.

Located in the namesake village of Barolo, Marchesi di Barolo skillfully cultivates the Nebbiolo grape, the beating heart of its most iconic labels. Here, the land intertwines with history, giving life to wines that are the result of a perfect balance between tradition and innovation. The winery has managed to combine ancient wisdom with modern winemaking techniques, maintaining a deep respect for the land and its peculiarities.

Among the gems of production stand out Cannubi and Sarmassa, two Barolo wines that embody the very essence of these lands. Cannubi, with its velvety tones and complexity that slowly unfolds, tells of sunlit hills and breezes that caress the vineyards. Sarmassa, on the other hand, surprises with its bold structure and intense aromas, a dance of scents that evokes the richness of the land from which it comes.

Every sip of a Marchesi di Barolo wine is an invitation to immerse yourself in the Piedmontese wine culture, a journey through the history and traditions of a unique territory.
