The 'Conus' by Alois Lageder is a pure Lagrein from biodynamic viticulture, bringing the authenticity of Alto Adige to the table. It is aged partly in steel and partly in wood for 12 months. It is an intense and structured red wine, yet with great elegance. A heterogeneous bouquet of plums, licorice, and cocoa, with spicy and floral hints. On tasting, you can perceive the full power of this reserve, which envelops and leaves a persistent finish. Great aging potential of 8/10 years.

Alois Lageder

Nestled among the majestic peaks of Trentino-Alto Adige, the Alois Lageder winery represents a bastion of elegance and innovation in the Italian wine landscape. With a tradition rooted in respect for nature and a pioneering vision of biodynamics, Alois Lageder has been able to combine the charm of tradition with a drive towards a sustainable future.
Under the aegis of the DOC Alto Adige denominations, the vineyards of Alois Lageder stretch across lands that speak of history and extraordinary biodiversity. Here, among the orderly rows, grapes of great value such as Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Lagrein come to life, varieties that find in the alpine microclimate an ideal habitat to best express their potential.
Among the labels bearing the distinctive signature of this winery, the Löwengang Chardonnay stands out, a wine that embodies the very essence of South Tyrolean elegance. With aromatic notes reminiscent of the freshness of the mountains and a structure that envelops the palate with the delicacy of a hug, this Chardonnay is a tribute to Alois Lageder's ability to innovate while maintaining territorial authenticity intact.

THE WINE
The 'Conus' by Alois Lageder is a pure Lagrein, from biodynamic viticulture, bringing the typicity of authentic Alto Adige to the table. It is aged partly in steel and partly in wood for 12 months. It is an intense and structured red wine, but with great elegance. A heterogeneous bouquet of plums, licorice, and cocoa, with spicy and floral hints. On tasting, you can perceive all the power of this reserve, which envelops and leaves a persistent finish. Great aging potential of 8/10 years.
THE COMPANY

A true synonym of excellence, Alois Lageder has demonstrated over the years the best that Alto Adige can express in terms of personality, elegance, and territorial adherence. A result born from a clear vision of its work, where every activity is closely linked to the others in a virtuous circle that has been completed with the conversion to biodynamics of the owned vineyards.
Founded in 1823 and now in its sixth generation, the company stands out for its ability to blend tradition and innovation: “quality is always the result of many details, sometimes even minimal - recalls Alois Lageder - and in all processing phases we first try to find harmony among all the factors involved, working in harmony with nature.” It is no coincidence that every wine succeeds like few others in the region in telling the ever-changing characteristics of its vineyard of origin - Alto Adige is indeed a land extremely rich in soil variety, microclimatic zones, and exposures, which therefore offers ideal conditions for producing wines with a marked individuality. The grapes harvested in the family's owned vineyards, about 50 hectares between Magrè, Cortaccia, Termeno, and in the area of Lake Caldaro, are cultivated with certified organic and biodynamic methods by Demeter. Moreover, besides managing the owned vineyards, the company collaborates with a number of trusted winegrowers from different areas of Alto Adige, vineyards that extend overall for another 110 hectares, about a quarter of which are cultivated according to biodynamic principles.
It is from this extraordinary context that wines are born, true ambassadors of the territory, captivating whites and reds that make up a range composed of three quality levels: the Classics, the Terroir Selections, the Masi.
