The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico by Clementi originates from the Collina Masua vineyard in Marano, in the most historic and suitable area for cultivation. Since 2017, the family has adhered to the 'RRR' protocol for complete eco-sustainability. The selected grapes are hand-picked at the end of September and left to dry in plateaux until February. Fermented in steel, it is racked 5-6 times, then rested first in French oak barrels for about 3 years. It is then bottled 4-5 years later. The Amarone presents an intense ruby red color, with a bouquet of ripe red and black fruits, plum jam, cherry, and aromas of dried fruit and sour cherry, complemented by spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. Due to its uniqueness, it is considered a great wine for meditation.

Clementi

Hidden among the steep slopes of Valtellina, in Lombardy, the winery Clementi is a small treasure of authenticity and family passion. Here, the history of wine is inextricably intertwined with tradition, in a charming mountain setting that holds the secrets of Nebbiolo, locally known as Chiavennasca. It is in this unique terroir, kissed by the sun and caressed by alpine winds, that the Clementi family cultivates its vineyards with dedication, perpetuating ancient knowledge.
The family-run winery embodies the essence of Valtellina's winemaking tradition, practicing vinification techniques passed down through generations. The result is wines that speak the language of the territory, authentically expressing the DOCG Valtellina Superiore. Here, Nebbiolo transforms into a nectar of rare elegance, characterized by a complex structure and aromas that evoke the fragrances of the mountains: notes of berries, spices, and a slight hint of violet.
Among the main labels of the winery, Valtellina Superiore stands out for its ability to tell the story of the place, combining the strength of tradition with the finesse of a wine that knows how to age gracefully. Each sip is a sensory journey through the Lombard valleys, an experience that brings to mind images of terraced vineyards and skilled hands at work.
Discover on Vino45 the winemaking art of the Clementi winery: an invitation to be seduced by the authentic flavors of a tradition that lives and renews itself among the mountains of Valtellina.

THE COMPANY

Pietro Clementi developed a passion for wine as a boy while spending time with his grandparents on their farm in Illasi, east of Verona, during World War II. After acquiring his own estate in 1969 in Gnirega di Valgatara, his passion grew alongside the expansion of the vineyards, which today cover 14.5 hectares, and the creation of a modern winery where his children and their families also work. The Clementi family produces a range of traditional wines made from the classic varieties Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara. Exemplary wines that pair perfectly with dishes from Veronese cuisine.
