The Timorasso vine is considered to be native to the Tortona area. Surely it has been reported in the area since the Middle Ages, and over the centuries it has come to become the most cultivated vine of the district, up to the womb of phylloxera and the second world war. Years of progressive abandonment of the countryside followed by a reduction in the area under vines in Timorasso to the benefit of easier and more productive varieties followed. In recent years, a group of far-sighted winemakers has brought forward the rediscovery of this vine and brought to light its enological characteristics, which allow to obtain wines of remarkable structure and freshness, qualities that foreshadow an interesting propensity to aging and to the aging in cask, often obtaining results of great importance.
