It was then that Christian Plattner's grandfather, the current custodian of the estate, purchased the property and began exporting his wines to Switzerland, marking the first chapter of a family tradition destined to last over time.
In the following years, it was Christian's father who carried on the family legacy, standing out for his pioneering vision: he began bottling wine at a time when this practice was far from common in the area. A courageous move, which today proves to be the prelude to the innovative attitude that continues to inspire the winery.
Today, with passion and talent, Christian Plattner leads Waldgries, combining respect for his origins with a modern outlook on winemaking. His wines are born from vineyards located on glacial soils, rich in porphyry, which give each bottle a strong identity, elegant structure, and unmistakable body. His interpretations of Lagrein and Schiava are true masterpieces of mountain viticulture, capable of expressing the authentic character of the Alto Adige territory.
