Bollinger

In the heart of Champagne, in the picturesque village of Aÿ, lies the historic Maison Bollinger, founded in 1829 by Athanase Louis Emmanuel Count of Villermont, in partnership with Joseph Bollinger, a German merchant, and Paul Ranaudin, a wine enthusiast. It was Joseph Bollinger, with his entrepreneurial spirit, who gave the decisive imprint to the Maison, helping to consolidate its prestige especially in the English and American markets, becoming its undisputed iconic figure.
Renowned for the exceptional quality of its Champagne, Bollinger stands out for a rigorous production philosophy, codified in true ethical principles. Among these, one of the most emblematic is the exclusive use of the free-run juice – that is, the juice from the first pressing – for the production of its Champagne; subsequent musts are given to other maisons.
The estate today extends over more than 160 hectares of vineyards, concentrated mainly between the Montagne de Reims and Aÿ itself, with Grand cru and Premier cru classifications. The vineyards, meticulously cared for with great attention to the environment, include varieties of pinot meunier, chardonnay, and especially pinot noir, a grape variety that represents the stylistic heart of Bollinger's blends. It is thanks to this grape variety that its Champagne are distinguished by vinosity, structure, and complexity.
From the famous “Special Cuvée” to the Extra Brut R.D., from Rosé to the prestigious vintage wines, all the wines mature in the Maison's evocative kilometers of underground cellars for a period ranging from three to eight years, well beyond the minimum requirements set by regulations. A slow and meticulous aging that allows Bollinger Champagne to develop aromatic depth, elegance, and perfect balance.
Today, the prestigious Bollinger labels are also available on Vino45, a benchmark for enthusiasts of excellent wines and spirits.
