The Domaine Jean Sipp produces this organic Pinot Blanc 2023 in Ribeauvillé and Hunawihr, at the heart of Alsace. The 2023 vintage, fresh and balanced, ensured even ripening with precise aromas and lively acidity. The 25-year-old vines, planted between 180 and 360 m a.s.l. on clay-limestone soils facing south and southwest, provide elegance and minerality. Yields of 50 hl/ha, with manual harvest and careful selection. After soft pressing within 2 hours of picking, the must slowly ferments in cement tanks at controlled temperature and ages 12 months on fine lees in stainless steel. In the glass, it is fresh, harmonious and floral, with white-fleshed fruit notes. Perfect with fish, shellfish, white meats and vegetarian dishes. Annual production: 10,000 bottles.

THE WINE

THE ESTATE
Jean-Guillaume took over the estate in 2014. After his training at the Lycée Agricole de Rouffach, he interned with several winemakers including Domaines Zind-Humbrecht in Alsace, Olivier Leflaive in Burgundy, Marcel Guigal in Ampuis in the Rhône, and Domaine Mont-Redon in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. He also approached other New World vineyards, such as Chile, Argentina, South Africa, and New Zealand. Primarily in the vineyards, where he developed soil management and affirmed his commitment to the environment. His efforts were rewarded with HVE certification (High Environmental Value in 2019) and Organic certification in 2021. In the cellar, he vinifies drier wines than his predecessors, with beautiful complexity and clock-like precision. He chose single parcel vinification, and it was following this choice that we saw the emergence of Riesling Grossberg and Riesling Haguenau, as well as a dry Pinot Grigio Hagel.
