'Historical' by Umani Ronchi is a project that starts from the land and its deep knowledge, specifically from a small parcel isolated among the historic vineyards of Montecarotto, in the Verdicchio Classico. The grapes are hand-picked when the fruits have reached optimal ripeness. Historical is the story of a search and a goal, a wine destined to age for over 5 years before revealing itself, with the romantic and concrete aim of being counted among the great Italian and world excellences of wines made from non-aromatic white grape varieties. A multifaceted and dynamic bouquet, with fresh citrus notes, candle wax, and floral nuances. The taste is enveloping and rhythmic, with a pronounced briny salinity and an extraordinary energy.

THE WINE
'Historical' by Umani Ronchi is a project that starts from the land and its deep knowledge, specifically from a small isolated plot among the historic vineyards of Montecarotto, in Verdicchio Classico. The grapes are hand-picked when the fruits have reached optimal ripeness. Historical is the story of a search and a goal, a wine destined to age for over 5 years before revealing itself, with the romantic and concrete aim of being listed among the great Italian and global excellences of wines made from non-aromatic white grapes. A multifaceted and dynamic bouquet, with fresh citrus notes, candle wax, and floral nuances. The taste is enveloping and rhythmic, with a pronounced briny salinity and an extraordinary energy.
THE COMPANY
The winery Umani Ronchi is one of the historic, large, and most well-known production realities in the Marche region. Its strength and the secret of its success lie in its continuous ability to renew itself and the courage to question itself, constantly improving production and staying updated on the latest trends, while keeping its feet firmly planted in the company traditions and those of the territory. It was founded in 1957 by Gino Umani Ronchi in Cupramontana, in the heart of Verdicchio production, and today boasts vast properties not only in the territory of Castelli di Jesi but also in Conero and Abruzzo. For over 50 years it has been managed by the Bianchi Bernetti family, which, thanks to the efforts of Massimo and then his son Michele, has been able to enhance and promote the labels produced worldwide.
The winery Umani Ronchi has undergone and successfully surpassed a significant transformation, converting hundreds of hectares of vineyards to organic farming, thanks to the expertise of agronomist Luigi Piersanti. The renewal and modernization have involved the entire production, capable of uniting the typical traits of the territory, the varietal character of the grapes, and a modern and elegant style. Each production site is equipped with its own cellar, according to the principle of 'three cellars for three territories': Osimo, where the great reds are born; Castelbellino, the cradle of Verdicchio, and Montipagano, the Abruzzo location.
The name Umani Ronchi has always been linked to the excellence of two renowned wine specialties: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Rosso Conero, based on Montepulciano. Alongside these, in recent years, Abruzzo wines have also been produced from native varieties that have immediately met with great success. The identification and enhancement of highly suitable vineyards have allowed the Bianchi Bernetti family to increasingly focus on quality and territorial characteristics. After over half a century of history, this winery has managed to maintain a reference role in the regional wine scene.
