The Sauvignon Blanc from Livio Felluga is a wine from the Friulian tradition, whose grape variety, of French origin, was introduced in Friuli during the Habsburg domination and was spread in the early 1900s. A fresh and captivating wine, with unmistakable and diverse aromas highlighting notes of exotic fruit, yellow bell pepper, tomato leaves, mint, lantana, and boxwood. Excellent freshness and great taste finesse. It is savory and harmonious. The palate is complex and rich, with citrus and tropical hints. A wine of great persistence, supported by balanced acidity, it finishes with an alluring mineral and balsamic note. Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs wonderfully with asparagus, vegetable soups, legume purées, and marinated fish.

THE WINE
The Sauvignon Blanc by Livio Felluga is a wine from the Friulian tradition, whose grape variety, of French origin, was introduced in Friuli during the Habsburg rule and became widespread in the early 1900s. It is a fresh and appealing wine, with unmistakable and multiple aromas highlighting notes of exotic fruit, yellow bell pepper, tomato leaves, mint, lantana, and boxwood. It has excellent freshness and great taste finesse. It is savory and harmonious. The palate is complex and rich, with citrus and tropical hints. It has great persistence, supported by balanced acidity, and finishes with an enticing mineral and balsamic note. Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs wonderfully with asparagus, vegetable soups, legume purées, and marinated fish.
THE COMPANY
A unique name in the Italian production landscape, as well as a symbol of a region and its wines, it is easy to understand how the story of Livio Felluga intertwines with that of an entire territory. This is a story featuring a family that survived two world wars, witnessing the changing borders around them, and then deciding to settle on the gentle slopes of the Friuli hills. It is here, not far from Cormòns in the province of Gorizia, that Livio Felluga had to embark on a new battle to revive the hillside, convinced that only the rebirth of quality cultivation could bring life back to the Friulian countryside. With great courage, he began to restore the old vineyards and plant new ones, introducing innovative ideas and methods. It was a hard job, filled with determination and passion, which over the years led him to create one of the most beautiful and significant business realities on the Peninsula, earning him the title, unanimously recognized, of the rebuilder of the Friulian winemaking tradition.
Currently, the company boasts a vast vineyard area, which ranges from the Collio denomination to the Colli Orientali del Friuli, covering about 155 hectares. In the vineyard, the varieties encountered are both indigenous and international, including friulano and pinot bianco, chardonnay and ribolla gialla, sauvignon blanc and pinot grigio, picolit and refosco, pignolo and merlot. These grapes are transformed into what are now referred to as "geographic map wines," always depicted on the label and representing an old map of the company’s estates.
And so, “Vertigo,” “Nuaré,” and “Sharis” come to life, followed by all the others, culminating in “Terre Alte”: wines born from a winery that still shines for its quality and the territorial character it manages to express, a true ambassador of the best Friulian whites - and thus Italian - around the world.
