Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC Merlot 2020 (750 ml.) Livio Felluga

The Merlot from Livio Felluga is born from vines that benefit from soils composed of marls and sandstones of Eocene origin. Made from pure Merlot grapes, hand-picked to preserve their integrity. Fermentation in stainless steel containers. Maturation both in steel and in small oak barrels. Bottled, it rests for refinement. A lively and elegant bouquet, with juicy notes of ripe fruit, black cherry, and red mirabelle, enveloping hints of dark spices and rose petals, along with a delicate exotic and citrus note. On the palate, it is voluptuous, fresh, and enveloping. With a refined aftertaste, notes of sour cherry, pomegranate, blood orange, hints of cloves, Sichuan pepper, and cedar wood stand out. A tannin of personality, sumptuous and long finish, with echoes of delicate aromas of toasted cocoa beans. Perfect with red meats, roasts, and medium-aged cheeses.
