The Brunello di Montalcino 'Selezione Madonna delle Grazie' from Il Marroneto is made from a selection of grapes harvested from the historic vineyard, located near the little church of Madonna delle Grazie, from which it takes its name. During the aging process in large oak barrels for 47 months, the natural aromas are preserved as much as possible, protecting it from the aggression of the wood. It becomes Brunello after 5 years, considering the 6 months of aging in the bottle. Very refined and of great depth, with great elegance, delicate and complex aromas, and a dense and velvety tannic structure that leads to a very fresh and persistent finish. The pleasantness of Sangiovese is combined with a complexity typical of great wines. A classic meditation wine, fruity, variable in aromas, with a great impact on the palate, capable of combining stylistic precision and longevity.

THE WINE
The Brunello di Montalcino 'Selezione Madonna delle Grazie' by Il Marroneto comes from a selection of grapes harvested from the historic vineyard located near the small church of Madonna delle Grazie, from which it takes its name. During the aging process in large oak barrels for 47 months, the natural aromas are preserved as much as possible, protecting it from the wood's aggression. It becomes Brunello after 5 years, including 6 months of bottle aging.
THE COMPANY

On the high slopes of the Montalcino hill, facing a panorama that ranges from the towers of Siena to the Casentino mountains, at the foot of the church of Madonna delle Grazie stands an ancient tower where the winery of Alessandro Mori is located, owner and interpreter of those Sangiovese grapes that have always been cultivated here. The first bottle of Brunello signed Il Marroneto was released from this winery in 1978, when his father Giuseppe purchased the land just outside the walls of Montalcino, inaugurating one of the first spontaneous wineries in the area.
Surrounding the tower, a historic building from 1246, are the vineyards covering 6 hectares, planted between 1975 and 1983 on slopes so steep that terracing is necessary. The cultivation is conducted with low-intervention, traditional, and minimalist criteria that include natural cover cropping and spring pruning, as well as a rejection of intensive production in favor of quality. Harvesting occurs only when the stems begin to turn burnt colors, a sign that the seeds have reached the right maturity to impart vegetal tannins to the wine. The winemaking process to which the grapes are subjected follows traditional and classic enology; aging takes place in large Allier and Slovenian barrels for at least 4 years, as required by the Brunello regulations. The result is an elegant and important wine, meant for contemplation, a magnificent expression of the love and patience necessary to produce it.
After nearly 40 years of activity, Il Marroneto is considered one of the ten historic companies in Montalcino, among the most renowned and important, thanks to the passion and work of Alessandro, but above all due to that impeccable and exciting Brunello that bears his signature.
