The Rosso di Montalcino 'Ignaccio' from the estate Il Marroneto comes from the vinification of pure Sangiovese Grosso and combines the typical complexity of the wines of the region with a nice drinkability, being a younger and fruitier version of Brunello. The wine matures in 25-hectoliter oak barrels for 8 months and completes its aging with an additional 6 months in the bottle. This short aging in wood gives an elegant bouquet, with floral notes and fragrant aromas of cherry and small red berries, followed by spicy hints, tobacco, noble woods, and balsamic nuances. It has a good structure, with still juicy fruit enhanced by beautiful evolutionary notes. Well-integrated and balanced tannins and a fresh, persistent finish.

Founded among the gentle hills of Montalcino, Il Marroneto has become a reference point for those seeking the quintessence of this legendary wine. The history of the winery intertwines with that of the territory, a place where winemaking tradition is passed down from generation to generation, preserving its authenticity.
The winery is renowned for its dedication to the cultivation of Sangiovese, the only grape variety that gives life to its wines. This choice is a clear reflection of the production philosophy of Il Marroneto, which prioritizes the purity and elegance of the native grape, enhancing the unique characteristics of the Montalcino terroir. Through an approach that combines tradition and respect for nature, each grape of Sangiovese is transformed into wines that shine with depth and brightness.
The Madonna delle Grazie, the crown jewel of the production, represents the pinnacle of the winemaking art of Il Marroneto. THE WINE
The Rosso di Montalcino 'Ignaccio' from the estate Il Marroneto is born from the vinification of Sangiovese Grosso in purity and combines the typical complexity of the wines from the region with a nice drinkability, a younger and fruitier version of Brunello. The wine matures in 25 hectoliter oak barrels for 8 months and finishes aging with an additional 6 months in the bottle. This brief aging in wood gives it an elegant bouquet, with floral notes and fragrant aromas of cherry and small red berry fruits, followed by spicy hints, tobacco, noble woods, and balsamic nuances. It has a good structure, with still juicy fruit enriched by beautiful evolving notes. Well-integrated and balanced tannins and a fresh, persistent finish.
THE ESTATE

On the high slopes of the Montalcino hill, facing a panorama that stretches from the towers of Siena to the Casentino mountains, at the foot of the church of Madonna delle Grazie stands an ancient tower that houses the winery of Alessandro Mori, the owner and interpreter of those Sangiovese grapes that have always been cultivated here. The first bottle of Brunello signed Il Marroneto came from this winery in 1978, when his father Giuseppe bought the land just outside the walls of Montalcino, inaugurating one of the first spontaneous wineries in the area.
Surrounding the tower, a historic building from 1246, are 6 hectares of vineyards, planted between 1975 and 1983 on such steep slopes that terracing is necessary. The cultivation is conducted with minimally invasive, traditional, and minimalist criteria that include natural cover cropping and spring pruning, along with a rejection of intensive production in favor of quality. Harvesting occurs only when the grape stems begin to turn burnt colors, a sign that the seeds have reached the right maturity to impart vegetal tannins to the wine. The vinification process to which the grapes are subjected follows a traditional and classic winemaking style; aging takes place in large Allier and Slovenian barrels for at least 4 years, as required by Brunello regulations. The result is an elegant and significant wine, meant for contemplation, a magnificent expression of the love and patience necessary to produce it.
After almost 40 years of activity, Il Marroneto is considered one of the ten historic wineries of Montalcino, among the most renowned and important, thanks to the passion and work of Alessandro, but above all due to that impeccable and exciting Brunello that bears his signature.
