THE COMPANY
A winery that has represented the best that South Tyrol can express in terms of finesse and longevity for decades. Founded in 1893 in the homonymous location not far from Merano, the Terlano winery is one of the most advanced producer cooperatives not only in all of South Tyrol but also in the entire Italian Peninsula, to the point of being considered a symbol of the perfect mechanism of cooperation in the wine sector. Its 143 members cultivate a total of 165 hectares of vineyards, corresponding to a total annual production that well exceeds one million bottles. Mind-blowing numbers, which go hand in hand with the best wines of the region, both white and red, capable of consistently pleasing both the public and critics. Thus, Antonio Galloni of Wine Advocate in 2011: “The best South Tyrolean wines I tasted this year come from Cantina Terlano. In short, they are benchmark wines. Wines that should not be missing from any important cellar.” A path, that of absolute quality, that the members of the Cantina di Terlano have embarked on with conviction over the decades, earning them fame and recognition in the Italian and international wine market. And so here are pinot bianco, chardonnay, pinot grigio, müller thurgau, gewürztraminer, and sauvignon blanc, followed by lagrein, schiava, pinot noir, and torilan: grape varieties that are exalted in their essentiality when worked in traditional labels, and that become - by now - resounding names when interpreted in “selection labels”: Terlaner, Winkl, Kreuth, Vorberg, Gries, Siebeneich, Siemegg, Monticol, Quarz, Nova Domus, Lunare, Porphyr. In short, names that over the years have rightly earned international prestige and notoriety, transforming the Terlano winery into a true institution not only of South Tyrolean wine but of the entire Italian wine scene.
