Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 'Poggio alle Mura' 2017 (750 ml.) Castello Banfi

The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG “Poggio alle Mura” 2017 by Castello Banfi is produced from carefully selected Sangiovese grapes grown in the historic vineyards surrounding the Castle of Poggio alle Mura, the estate’s core. The 2017 vintage, marked by a warm and dry climate, led to early and concentrated ripening, yielding healthy grapes with great aromatic intensity. Vinification follows strict protocols with a total ageing of about 5 years, including 2 years in French oak barriques and extended bottle ageing, enhancing structure, depth and longevity. The bouquet reveals ripe cherry, plum, sweet spices, tobacco and balsamic notes. On the palate it is powerful, balanced and enveloping, with mature, velvety tannins. Ideal with structured red meats, game, roasts, braised dishes and aged cheeses.
