Valpolicella Classico Superiore 'Toar' by Masi is an elegant and modern red, the result of a blend of Corvina and Oseleta, a rediscovered native grape variety. The grapes come from hillside vineyards in the Valpolicella Classica, on basaltic and tuffaceous soils, which impart minerality and structure. After traditional fermentation, the wine ages for 12 months in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels, acquiring complexity and roundness. On the nose, notes of ripe red fruit, spices, and chocolate emerge; the palate is harmonious, savory, and persistent, with soft tannins. Ideal with roasts, grilled meats, and aged cheeses, it represents the evolution of Valpolicella in a contemporary key.

Always a pillar in the global wine scene, Masi has built its reputation through its mastery in the production of the famous Amarone. The sweet hills of Valpolicella, with their rich soils and unique microclimate, represent the ideal cradle for the cultivation of the Corvina and Rondinella grapes, which find their utmost expression in this territory.
The production philosophy of Masi is a perfect blend of tradition and innovation. With a deep respect for the winemaking techniques passed down through generations, the winery stands out for its ability to reinterpret the classics with an eye towards the future. The approach is characterized by meticulous attention to every detail, from the vineyard to the bottle, with the aim of enhancing the peculiarities of the territory and the indigenous grapes.
Among the standout labels, the Costasera Amarone represents a true masterpiece. This iconic wine, with its intense ruby color, is distinguished by its imposing structure and aromatic complexity, where notes of ripe cherry, spices, and chocolate blend into perfect harmony. Every sip is a sensory journey that tells the story and passion of a winery that has made excellence its trademark.

Address:
Via Monteleone, 26 - 37015 Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella - Frazione Gargagnago (VR), Italy
Color: Intense ruby red with violet reflections, bright and of good consistency in the glass.
Bouquet: Complex and enveloping, with notes of ripe cherry, plum, black pepper, licorice, and hints of cocoa and toasted wood due to aging in oak. A pleasant volcanic minerality is perceived in the background.
Taste: On the palate, it is soft, savory, and well-structured, with a fine and round tannic texture. The balance between fruit, freshness, and spiciness is excellent. The finish is persistent, with echoes of sweet spices and chocolate.

THE WINE

Valpolicella Classico Superiore 'Toar' by Masi is an elegant and modern red wine, the result of a blend of Corvina and Oseleta, a rediscovered indigenous grape variety. The grapes come from hillside vineyards in the Valpolicella Classica, on basaltic and tuffaceous soils, which confer minerality and structure. After traditional fermentation, the wine ages for 12 months in Slavonian and Allier oak barrels, gaining complexity and roundness. On the nose, notes of ripe red fruit, spices, and chocolate emerge; the palate is harmonious, savory, and persistent, with soft tannins. Ideal with roasts, grilled meats, and aged cheeses, it represents the evolution of Valpolicella in a contemporary key.
THE COMPANY

Veneto is one of the most vocated regions from a winemaking perspective in all of Italy. A varied and multifaceted territory, always in ferment, with emerging production realities alongside historic and prestigious names. Among the latter, the winery Masi must be mentioned, a family business for seven generations that has belonged to the Boscaini family since the late 18th century, but which today represents one of the most important and authoritative Italian wine brands in the world.
With extensive vineyard holdings in both Italy and Argentina, where the Tupungato line gives voice to the terroir of Mendoza, the heart of the company, with the winery and management center, remains firmly anchored to Valpolicella, the place where the entire winemaking project began. Currently managed by a well-coordinated technical team gathered in a Board of Directors chaired by Sandro Boscaini, the company, linked to the millennial Venetian civilization, has its roots in a historical heritage consisting of exceptional terroirs and great indigenous grapes.
Moreover, by combining the oldest traditions with the most modern technology, the winery Masi is constantly active in the field of research and experimentation, to the point that it has contributed to rewriting the history of appassimento for the production of Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, a symbol of the territory, as well as being a pioneer in the recovery and use of ancient almost-extinct Veronese grape varieties, such as Oseleta. It is precisely from the indigenous grapes of these territories, processed according to traditional winemaking techniques, that unique, majestic, and world-famous wines are born, such as Amarone itself, of which Masi produces probably the most qualified and extensive range currently available in the international market, with the “Mazzano” and “Costasera” Riserva always at the top of industry guides, both Italian and international.
