The 'Lodano Rosso' by Tua Rita is the union of a great and exuberant Petit Verdot with a more mature Merlot. An harmonious balance between two excellent grapes (60% Petit Verdot, 40% Merlot) grown in organic farming and aged for about 18 months in new and second-use French oak barriques, as well as in small American oak barrels, to give the wine softness and elegance and a decidedly modern style. An intense, pleasant wine with great drinkability, featuring herbaceous, floral, fruity, and finely spiced aromas. With pleasant balsamic notes, long persistence, and a light savory finish.

A name that resonates among wine enthusiasts for its ability to express the most authentic essence of the Tuscan territory through labels of extraordinary quality. Founded with passion and determination, Tua Rita has become a symbol of excellence and innovation, while remaining deeply rooted in local winemaking traditions.
In the microcosm of Suvereto, the Tua Rita winery diligently cultivates prestigious grape varieties such as Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc. These vines, which find an ideal habitat in this corner of Tuscany, are processed with an attention that borders on artisanal mastery. The production philosophy of Tua Rita is a perfect balance between tradition and modernity, where every oenological choice is considered to enhance the distinctive character of each grape variety, while respecting the integrity of the soil and the environment.

THE WINE
The 'Lodano Rosso' by Tua Rita is the union of a great and exuberant Petit Verdot with a more mature Merlot. THE COMPANY

Tua Rita is a winery located in Val di Cornia and has gained international fame for the excellent quality of its wines, particularly for some of its labels, such as the Merlot Redigaffi. Entrepreneur Rita Tua and her husband Virgilio Bisti purchased the lands in 1984 with the intention of moving to a place where they could live close to nature, cultivating their own land. Thanks to their unbridled passion for wine, they expanded from the original 2 hectares of vineyard to the current 30. Named simply by reversing the name and surname of the owner, the Tua Rita winery represents one of the first successful Italian realities developed on the "garage wine" model, where all production processes are conducted entirely independently and artisanally: small productions achieved with rigor, competence, and seriousness.
The training system for the vines at Tua Rita alternates between simple spur cordon and double spur cordon. The protection of the vines follows organic farming methods with the aim of helping the plants defend themselves, ensuring the health of the environment and the soil. The use of plant protection products is indeed abolished. The soil on which the vines grow is mainly composed of skeletal material, clay, silt, and sand and is rich in micro-minerals. The territorial characteristics of the Metalliferous Hills give Tua Rita wines original iron notes and a nice salty character.
In the cellar, where the premises have been recently renovated, interventions are limited and minimally invasive. The selected grapes undergo a gentle pressing before being left to ferment in wooden vats. Once fermentation is complete, the wine flows into the barriques located below the fermentation rooms. Here, aging continues for at least 18 months. This results in wines where quality meets tradition, artisanal expressions that uncompromisingly reflect the generous Maremma territory.
