The Toscana Rosso 'Summus' by Banfi is an intense and deep Supertuscan that excellently represents the potential of the three grape varieties that compose it. It is born in the Montalcino area and uses the quintessential Tuscan grape, the Sangiovese, which combined with Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah gives life to this wine characterized by a very intense aroma of ripe fruit and plum and cherry jam. It has a broad, significant, and elegant structure. Produced only in excellent vintages, it is one of the best examples of Banfi's ability to combine innovative drive with skilled tradition. About 2 years of aging in barriques lead to a long and captivating tasting experience, soft and enveloping, capable of surprising even after a long aging period.

THE COMPANY

Banfi was founded in 1978 thanks to the will of the Italian-American brothers John and Harry Mariani. From the beginning, the two brothers envisioned a large-scale project, integrating quality viticulture production with a modern winery with the goal of always maintaining a high qualitative level of the wines produced. Alongside the Mariani family was Ezio Rivella, one of the greatest Italian enologists, who immediately believed that due to the richness of the soil and the privileged microclimatic position, the acquired territories would have great development potential. In those years, the brothers John and Harry also acquired the historic Piedmontese winery Bruzzone, active since 1860 and specialized in the production of sparkling wines, to make it the Piedmontese brand of the group, today Banfi Piemonte.
