The Bolgheri Superiore 'Tenuta Hortense' by Fratini is a new entry in the Bolgheri landscape. The winemaker of Tenuta Hortense describes the main steps to produce his 'design': a process that starts in the vineyard where a specific Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard has been defined, particularly elegant in its tannic-mineral character, followed by fermentation in the cellar with spontaneous yeasts, long maceration on the skins, and aging for 18 months in 500-liter barrels. In addition to the Cabernet Sauvignon, which is the main grape variety, small percentages of other Bordeaux grape varieties, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, can enter the blend to contribute to the perfect design of elegance and taste dynamics.' A wine destined to make history.

Fratini

In the splendid setting of Tuscany, a land of history and winemaking tradition, stands the enological project of Fratini. A name that evokes elegance and refinement, dedicated to the selection of cru and fine wines from the most suitable areas of Italy. In this region, where the hills seem painted with strokes of green, Fratini stands out for its exclusive approach, which combines the pursuit of stylistic and aesthetic perfection with a deep passion for wine.
Tuscany, with its generous sun and varied soil, offers the ideal stage for the cultivation of noble grapes like Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Fratini, with a keen eye on quality, transforms these grapes into wines of great character and personality. Among the main labels, the Supertuscans shine, embodying innovation and excellence, alongside selections of Brunello, a pure expression of the territory and tradition.
The Bolgheri of Fratini is an ode to complexity and structure, a wine that reveals intense aromas of red fruits and spices, with a persistent and harmonious finish. Each bottle is the result of meticulous attention to detail, a journey that begins with the selection of the best parcels and ends with the creation of a unique tasting experience.
Let yourself be seduced by the elegance and refinement of Fratini wines, available on Vino45, and embark on a sensory journey through the enological wonders of Tuscany.

THE WINE

The Bolgheri Superiore 'Tenuta Hortense' by Fratini is a new entry in the Bolgheri landscape. The winemaker of Tenuta Hortense narrates the main steps to produce his 'design': a journey that starts from the vineyard where a specific Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard has been defined, particularly elegant in its tannic-mineral aspect, in the winery spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, long skin maceration, and aging for 18 months in 500-liter barrels. Besides the Cabernet Sauvignon, which is the main grape variety, small percentages of other Bordeaux varieties, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, can enter the blend to contribute to the perfect design of elegance and tasting dynamics. A wine destined to make history.
THE COMPANY

The brothers Corrado and Marcello Fratini, who founded Tenuta Argentiera in 1999, are “trying again” with a different project: Tenuta Hortense, 10 hectares of vines in Castagneto Carducci, almost all dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon, but also a bit to Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aimed at producing high-quality wines. Through a process that started from the choice of the land, guided by a true team of experts led by agronomist Gianni Moscardini, supported by winemakers Eric Boissenot, consultant for important Bordeaux chateaux (from Lafite-Rothschild to Margaux, to Mouton-Rothschild) and Emiliano Falsini, consultant in the main Italian terroirs, from Barolo to Etna, passing through Bolgheri, and agronomist Xavier Choné, Pedro Parra from the Chilean firm Agroprecision of Nelson Muñoz J, and Françoise Vannier from Adama Terroirs Viticoles. A small production of only 5-6,000 bottles of Bolgheri Superiore.
