The 'Carat' by Bressan is a orange wine with a strong character that reflects the personality of the producer Fulvio Bressan. A traditional blend of Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, and Malvasia Istriana, the vines were planted in 1990 and the grapes grown according to sustainable practices. Manual harvesting is slightly late to ensure full ripening. Soft pressing and processing through prolonged skin maceration. Fermentation and aging in oak wood for about 3 years. The wine is bottled without any filtration. An articulated olfactory panorama with intense notes of apricot, peach, melon, and orange peel, hints of spices, acacia honey, and almond. The tasting is soft, fresh, and seductive, with great breadth and refined savory-mineral persistence.

Bressan

Nestled in the heart of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the winery Bressan is a stronghold of authenticity and winemaking tradition. Here, where the gentle hills blend with the fresh breezes of the Adriatic, grapes are passionately cultivated, telling the story of a generous and mysterious land. The IGT Venezia Giulia designation is the stage on which Bressan showcases its wine spectacle, a sensory journey rooted in ancient practices and uncompromising methods.
The production philosophy of Bressan is a hymn to nature and craftsmanship. Each glass is the result of a process that respects the natural cycle, where the hand of man guides wisely and sensitively. The grapes, including the distinctive Schioppettino and the refined Pinot Grigio, are cultivated using traditional methods, without invasive interventions, to preserve the essence of the terroir and the purity of varietal expression.
The wines of Bressan are a symphony of character and complexity. Their Schioppettino stands out for its bold personality, with spicy notes and a robust body that envelops the senses in an engaging embrace. On the other hand, the Pinot Noir from Bressan offers a more delicate yet equally intriguing experience, with its aromas of red fruits and a refined structure that enchants with every sip.

THE WINE
The 'Carat' by Bressan is a orange wine with a strong character that reflects the personality of the producer Fulvio Bressan. A traditional blend of Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, and Malvasia Istriana, whose vines were planted in 1990 and grown according to sustainable practices. THE COMPANY

Fulvio Bressan is an unconventional Friulian winemaker who categorically rejects the fleeting and homogenizing trends that abound in the wine world, proudly following a niche production vision aimed at offering the truest expression of the Isonzo territory. The ancient winemaking roots of the Bressan family date back to the 18th century, while recent affirmation is due to Fulvio L. Bressan, the ninth generation of “master winemakers” and current owner, who has the merit of leading the Farra d’Isonzo winery to definitive global recognition. For the estate's logo, the Bressan family adopted the family crest, where the ankh cross rises in the center.
Within the approximately 20 hectares of vineyards owned, on land made up of layers of gravel laid over clay and sandstone marls, Fulvio Bressan cultivates indigenous and international varieties such as Friulano, Verduzzo, Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana, Schioppettino, Pignolo, Moscato Rosa, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Nero, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The plants are cultivated according to truly sustainable and conscientious viticulture, excluding the use of synthetic chemical substances and involving the manual execution of agronomic operations, respecting the natural cycle of the vine. The harvest is carried out only when the grapes have reached full ripeness and is followed by spontaneous alcoholic fermentation of the musts in stainless steel tanks, in contact with the skins even for white grapes. The wine containers used for aging include stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels of various sizes and types, where the wines mature for a long time on the fine lees until bottling, which is done without any prior filtration.
The wines of the Bressan winery represent true jewels of artisanal Friulian winemaking, endowed with an exemplary typicity born from a solid peasant culture. From orange wines to red wines, including the peculiar ‘Rosantico’, the labels of Fulvio Bressan stand out as unique expressions that reflect the strong personality of their creator.
