THE WINE

It ages for at least four years in the cellar. Rich and generous, with exotic notes of mango and passion fruit, acacia honey, and pastries. THE MAISON

The Maison Pol Roger, located at number 44 on Avenue de Champagne in the French town of Epernay, is situated in what the British politician Winston Churchill called “the most delicious and drinkable address in the world.”
Founded around the second half of the 19th century, in 1849 to be exact, the winery is named after its eponymous founder, a scion of a famous family of notaries. Established on precise, rigorous, and well-defined strategies, since the beginning, Pol Roger has chosen to specialize in the production of Brut Vintage Champagne, highly suited for aging, which immediately garnered numerous accolades and particular favor among enthusiasts and lovers of the genre, both French and beyond.
Today, remaining one of the few maisons still led by the founding family, Pol Roger continues to firmly pursue the core principles that have constituted the company's philosophy since the beginning: selecting and vinifying only the best grapes of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, in order to produce wines, and then cuvées, that can celebrate the utmost excellence of Champagne and its sparkling wines.
In this way, for over a century and a half, the Maison has crafted and distributed an excellent and varied range of Champagne, which have been praised over time by illustrious figures, such as Winston Churchill himself, to whom Pol Roger dedicated a prestigious cuvée, initially called White Foil and now better known as Cuvée Churchill. Characterized by gentleness and softness, all Champagne labeled Pol Roger is made from wines that have undergone malolactic fermentation, during which the harsh, strong, and angular malic acid transforms into the softer, velvety, and delicate lactic acid through the action of bacteria, resulting in wines that are distinguished by their depth of aromas, elegance, and refinement.
