Sylvaner
Sylvaner is a white wine that stands out for its elegance and freshness, a true jewel in the wine landscape of South Tyrol. This wine is named after the grape of the same name, whose charm lies in its ability to precisely reflect the terroir in which it is cultivated. Originally from Central Europe, Sylvaner has found an ideal habitat in the valleys of South Tyrol, where the alpine-Mediterranean climate and mineral-rich soils give its grapes unique characteristics.
Sylvaner vines thrive in vineyards located at high altitudes, often on steep slopes that ensure excellent sun exposure and constant ventilation. This combination promotes optimal ripening of the grapes, which can thus develop a lively acidity and a rich and varied aromatic profile. The harvest, usually done by hand, is carried out with great care to preserve the integrity of the bunches, followed by vinification aimed at enhancing the purity and freshness of the fruit.
From an organoleptic point of view, Sylvaner presents itself with a bright straw yellow color, sometimes with greenish reflections. On the nose, it opens with a bouquet of delicate and complex aromas, ranging from white flowers such as hawthorn and jasmine, to fresh fruit like green apple, pear, and light citrus notes. Aromatic herbs and a hint of minerality reminiscent of its native soil are also present.
On the palate, Sylvaner stands out for its freshness and lightness, with a slender yet well-structured body. The lively acidity is balanced by a pleasant softness, making the sip harmonious and inviting. The fruity flavors are confirmed in the mouth, accompanied by a surprising mineral persistence that gives depth and character to the wine. The finish is long and clean, leaving a sensation of freshness that invites another sip.
Thanks to its versatility and refinement, Sylvaner is an excellent companion for a wide range of gastronomic pairings. It pairs beautifully with fish and seafood dishes, light appetizers, salads, and fresh cheeses. Its ability to enhance flavors without overpowering them makes it ideal even with more spicy or aromatic preparations, typical of Asian cuisine.
Discovering Sylvaner means embarking on a sensory journey through the wonders of South Tyrol, an experience that fascinates both novices and connoisseurs. On Vino45, we invite you to explore our fine selection of Sylvaner, perfect for enriching your collection of white wines and gifting you moments of pure tasting pleasure.
