The Chardonnay Marlborough 2023 by Cloudy Bay originates in the sunny lands of New Zealand, from four plots in Brancott, Fairhall, Ben Morven and Central Wairau Valley, areas that bring complexity and unique nuances. After about 12 months in French oak barrels, the wine shows an elegant, intense profile combining marine freshness and solar warmth. On the nose, aromas of lemon, green apple and orange blossom, enriched by hints of vanilla and delicate toast. On the palate it is energetic yet balanced, with solid structure, vibrant minerality and persistent finish. Perfect with shellfish, grilled fish, white meats and aged cheeses, a white of strong personality and contemporary charm.

THE ESTATE

The Cloudy Bay estate in New Zealand produces exceptional wines that reflect the terroir of origin. For over 30 years, the estate has been a key player in the international wine market. Created in 1985 by David Hohnen, founder of the Cape Mentelle estate in Australia, the Cloudy Bay vineyards extend to the mouth of the bay of the same name in New Zealand. Located between the Pacific Ocean and the Richmond Range mountains, this piece of land offers a truly extraordinary landscape. Cloudy Bay, one of the first estates established in the Marlborough region, has greatly contributed to making New Zealand one of the most important wine-producing areas of the “New World.” Attention to detail is a crucial strength for the estate and is among the values that have contributed to the exceptional quality of its wines. In the production process, Cloudy Bay takes into account a multitude of aspects, not least the environmental impact. This is why sustainable development has always played a fundamental role within the company. Cloudy Bay is firmly committed to implementing good environmental practices in the management of its winemaking activities and in the cultivation of its vineyards, for an integrated and unique production.
