Villa Gemma Abruzzo Bianco DOC is an elegant blend of Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, Pecorino, and Cococciola, three grape varieties that symbolize the Abruzzo tradition. The grapes come from hilly vineyards located between 200 and 400 m s.l.m. in the municipalities of S. Martino sulla Marrucina, Ripa Teatina, Casacanditella, and Bucchianico, cultivated using traditional systems of Abruzzo pergola and simple Guyot, with a limited yield of 90 q.li/ha. The vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to best preserve the aromatic integrity of the grapes, followed by bottle aging that enhances its balance. The result is a fresh, vibrant, and mineral wine, with delicate aromas of white fruit, flowers, and aromatic herbs, offering a harmonious and savory sip. Ideal with seafood appetizers, raw fish, shellfish, and fish pasta dishes.

Masciarelli Tenute Agricole

Masciarelli Tenute Agricole is synonymous with winemaking excellence in Abruzzo. Founded in 1981 by Gianni Masciarelli, a charismatic and visionary figure, the company revolutionized the way wine is understood in Abruzzo, bringing Montepulciano and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo to international stages. With over 60 vineyards distributed across the four provinces of Abruzzo, Masciarelli cultivates a deep bond with its land, enhancing its pedoclimatic characteristics to highlight the character of each individual grape variety.
Its seven lines – from Villa Gemma to the elegant Marina Cvetic – tell a story of Abruzzo made of hills, mountains, and sea breezes, where tradition, innovation, and sustainability coexist harmoniously. The beating heart of the company is San Martino sulla Marrucina (CH), but the Castle of Semivicoli, now a charming relais, represents the refined face of Abruzzo wine tourism.
Every Masciarelli bottle is a tribute to the biodiversity of the “Green Region of Europe” and today you can discover it also on Vino45, an exclusive selection of great Italian wines. For those seeking authenticity, elegance, and a story to drink.
Address:
Via Gamberale, 2 66010 San Martino sulla Marrucina (CH), Italy
Color: bright straw yellow with greenish reflections, crystalline and brilliant, reveals its freshness and youth right from the start.
Smell: it opens with a fine and delicate bouquet, where notes of crisp white fruit like apple and pear stand out, followed by floral hints of hawthorn and wildflowers, accompanied by nuances of Mediterranean aromatic herbs and a marked mineral imprint.
Taste: fresh and harmonious, with a good structure and a lively sip supported by a pronounced salinity. The finish is long, clean, and slightly citrusy, confirming the character typically Abruzzese of the wine and the quality of the blend of Trebbiano, Pecorino, and Cococciola.
- Luca Maroni: 93/100
