THE DISTILLERY
In 1843, a former brewery was converted into a distillery by William Matheson, marking the birth of the Glenmorangie Distillery. Located in the North Highlands region, in the northern part of Scotland extending towards the North Sea, Glenmorangie has faced numerous challenges over the years. Currently, with 16 employees, a number that has been superstitiously maintained for 150 years, Glenmorangie, often referred to as the “distillery of 16 men,” continues to produce prestigious and high-quality whisky. Using stills over five meters tall, they create pure distillates, which are allowed to mature in special barrels previously used for aging Sauternes, Sherry, Pedro Ximenez, SuperTuscan, and Port. Exceptional whiskies, renowned and universally appreciated by all the most discerning lovers of the category.
