Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 'The Nectar d'Or' Sauternes Cask Finish (700 ml. boxed) Glenmorangie
The 'Nectar d'Or' Sauternes Cask by Glenmorangie is a Scotch whisky produced in the Highlands that is aged for 10 years in American white oak barrels and then matured for 2 years in barrels that previously held Sauternes. A tribute to France and its most famous sweet wine in the world. Glenmorangie has managed to balance the sweetness and dryness of French wines very well with its own whisky. Deep and warm, with the sweet essence typical of Sauternes blending perfectly with the character and strength of the whisky. The finish closes with a spicy weave dominated by white chocolate and vanilla.

THE DISTILLERY

In 1843, a former brewery was converted into a distillery by William Matheson, which officially marked the birth of the Glenmorangie Distillery. Located in the North Highlands region, in the northern part of Scotland that extends towards the North Sea, Glenmorangie has faced numerous challenges over the years. Currently, with 16 employees, a number that has been superstitiously kept unchanged for 150 years, Glenmorangie, which is aptly called the “distillery of 16 men,” continues to produce prestigious and high-quality whisky. Using pot stills over five meters tall, they create pure distillates that are left to mature in special barrels, previously used for aging Sauternes, Sherry, Pedro Ximenez, SuperTuscan, and Port. Exceptional whiskies, renowned and universally appreciated by all the most discerning lovers of the category.
