Single Malt Scotch Whisky 'Glenburgie' 1998 Distillery Labels 21 Years (700 ml. boxed) Gordon & Macphail
Single Malt Scotch Whisky 21 Years Old distilled by Glenburgie in 1998 and bottled in 2019 by Gordon & Macphail. It is complex on the nose and concentrated on the palate: after over two decades of aging, it is a full-bodied and fruity Single Malt with aromas of stewed apple, cinnamon, and cloves. This is followed by notes of ripe summer berries that blend with hints of fresh mint and sensations of toasted malt. It will be appreciated for its character, assertive and determined on one hand, yet precise and never excessive on the other. Excellent price/quality ratio, a Scotch Whisky not to be missed.

THE WHISKY
Single Malt Scotch Whisky 21 Years Old distilled from Glenburgie in 1998 and bottled in 2019 by Gordon & Macphail. It is complex on the nose and concentrated in flavor: after more than two decades of aging, it is a full-bodied and fruity Single Malt with hints of stewed apple, cinnamon, and cloves. This is followed by notes of ripe summer berries that combine with fresh mint notes and sensations of toasted malt. It will be appreciated for its character, determined and assertive on one hand, yet precise and never excessive on the other. Excellent price/quality ratio, a Scotch Whisky not to be missed.
THE DISTILLERY
The town of Elgin, in the northeast of Scotland, is considered "the world capital of Whisky." It is here that in 1895 Gordon & Macphail was founded by James Gordon and John Alexander McPhail. Their insight was to combine the typical "drugstore" with a wine and spirits shop, merging two distinct commercial activities and effectively becoming pioneers of the single malt market outside the Highlands. Their choices quickly proved to be more than apt: by selecting and purchasing the best new whiskies directly from the producer, then aging them in the finest casks and finally bottling them at the right moment, Gordon & Macphail dominated the single malt market during the thirty years from 1955 to 1985, becoming recognized for its complex and elegant style. Today, the company, capitalizing on the excellent relationships it has established with all Scottish distilleries, possesses an immense and diversified reserve of whisky in its warehouses and continues to be present in the market with prestige and authority.
