The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG “Tenuta Nuova” 2020 by Casanova di Neri is made from hand-harvested Sangiovese Grosso in September, following a balanced season that allowed for slow, even ripening. After manual and optical selection of the grapes, it ferments without added yeasts in truncated conical vats for 24 days, then ages 30 months in oak and 18 months in bottle. With a deep, youthful colour, it offers aromas of clove, bay leaf, wild blackberry, with hints of almond and cherry. The palate is broad, velvety and vibrant, with fine tannins and a very long finish featuring liquorice and small red berries. Perfect with braised meats, game and aged cheeses.
