The 'Duke Enrico' of Duca di Salaparuta, first produced in 1984, is one of the symbolic wines of Italian and international winemaking. The first pure Nero d’Avola in the history of Sicilian wines, this noble red, which comes exclusively from a few selected vineyards, is a wine with an aristocratic charm and an unmistakable style. Aging for 18 months in barrique allows the wine to evolve and enrich itself with refined tertiary notes, making the bouquet particularly complex, deep, and persistent, with floral notes, aromas of cherry and dark small fruits, and spicy hints. On the palate, it is enveloping and profound, with soft tannins, a harmonious and very persistent finish. It is a prestigious label, to be enjoyed during a special evening.

Duca di Salaparuta

Nestled among the bright lands of Sicily, the Duca di Salaparuta winery represents one of the pillars of Italian viticulture, a story that has its roots dating back to 1824. Born from the desire to explore the potential of a territory rich in traditions and natural beauty, Duca di Salaparuta has skillfully combined the heritage of the past with contemporary innovation over time.
Sicily, with its Mediterranean climate and varied soils, offers an ideal stage for the cultivation of indigenous grapes such as Nero d'Avola and Grillo. These varieties, deeply rooted in the territory, are the lifeblood of the wines produced by Duca di Salaparuta, which stand out for their authenticity and character. The scent of the vineyards mingles with the salty sea breeze, creating a unique terroir that is enhanced in the bottles produced by the winery.
Among the symbolic labels, Corvo Rosso stands as an emblem of tradition and winemaking mastery. This rich and enveloping wine best expresses the Sicilian soul, with its intense aromas and a structure that captivates the senses. Every sip becomes a journey through time and space, telling stories of ancient vineyards and a land that never ceases to amaze.

THE COMPANY

The Duca di Salaparuta Group brings together three historic brands that represent Sicily and Italy in the world: Corvo and Duca di Salaparuta, founded in 1824, and Florio, founded in 1833. Acquired by Illva Saronno Holding and united into a single entity, these two historic companies form the first private wine group on the island and tell the story and the land through suggestive places like the Tenute and the historic Cantine. Three brands, each a witness to a specific territory and its distinguishing features, and a complete range of wines capable of satisfying every occasion for consumption and pairing.
