THE WINE
The Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva from the winery Carpineto is produced with grapes coming from Sangiovese vineyards (Prugnolo Gentile) at least 70% and no more than 30% of Canaiolo and other authorized varieties. It is subsequently aged for 2 years in oval oak barrels from Slavonia and in French oak barrels in the cellar at room temperature, and then refined in the bottle for a minimum of 6 months. Great finesse and elegance characterize this great red wine.
THE COMPANY
The company was founded in 1967 by the Sacchet and Zaccheo families. In the late sixties, Giovanni Carlo Sacchet and Antonio Mario Zaccheo founded Carpineto with the aim of producing a Chianti Classico of international level. This represented, at that time, a real revolution in a world, that of Chianti, which until then had remained overly traditional.
Under their direction, Carpineto has grown to become a company with an international reputation, having succeeded in producing wines of great intensity and extract, reliable and above all of consistently high quality over time. Today, the reds of Carpineto are renowned for these characteristics, which have even strengthened in recent years. Great merit must be recognized to the long aging, which often exceeds by six to twelve months the limits required by the regulations of various denominations.
Carpineto operates in Tuscany, paying particular attention to the deep roots of its tradition and its historical denomination. The management of the vineyards is characterized by a low environmental impact regime and is supported by cellars managed with the utmost respect for the natural phenomena that transform grapes into wine. From the combination of these factors, wines are born that have a close connection with the territory, reflecting the peculiarities of each single vineyard and its denomination, distilling the aromas and the “culture” that remain alive and fragrant in the bottle for many decades.
The product line includes wines from the most prestigious Docg to varietal wines of great structure. These wines are exported to 70 countries around the world. About 95% of the entire production consists of red wines, and most of these are wines that are aged for three years or more before being released on the market.
