Barolo DOCG 'Margheria' 2019 (750 ml.) Massolino

The Barolo ‘Margheria’ by Massolino originates from the eponymous cru in Serralunga d’Alba, on calcareous-clay soils rich in mineral substances, which give depth and structure to the wine. The Nebbiolo grapes, coming from historic vineyards, are hand-picked, vinified with slow fermentation and long maceration on the skins, to best extract aromas and tannins. The aging occurs for 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by at least 12 months in bottle, to ensure balance and complexity. On the nose, notes of ripe cherry, tobacco, sweet spices, and licorice emerge, while the palate is broad, enveloping, with dense yet elegant tannins and a long and balsamic finish. A wine of great longevity, ideal with braised dishes, game, roasts, and aged cheeses.

Massolino

In the picturesque setting of Serralunga d'Alba, the vibrant heart of enological Piedmont, the Massolino winery stands as a bastion of classic Barolo. Founded in 1896, this winery has built its reputation on an uncompromising dedication to tradition and excellence. In a region where the morning fog gently caresses the rows of vines, Massolino lovingly and rigorously cultivates the native varieties of Nebbiolo and Dolcetto, respecting the natural rhythm of the seasons and the vocation of the terroir.

The Barolo Margheria is the flagship of the production, a wine embodying the austerity and longevity typical of Serralunga. With its deep and complex character, this Barolo fascinates with its aromas of rose petals, ripe cherries, and earthy notes, evolving into tones of sweet spices and cocoa over the years. Each sip tells a story of patience and mastery, reflecting the very essence of this generous land.

Let yourself be seduced by the wines of Massolino available on Vino45: an invitation to discover the authentic spirit of Serralunga Barolo, where tradition and passion merge into an unparalleled enological experience.
